I have a BGW210-700 on version:2.10.6
SSID: 2.4GHz in G/N mode, WPA-2
My client has Windows 10 1909, with an ax201 WiFi card and the latest Intel drivers.
Every few minutes the client is receiving a DisAssoc request with reason code 2, which is "previous authentication no longer valid"
On the router under WiFi Client Connection Statistics I can see that this client has hundreds of Disassoc and Deauth counts, while other clients have minimal.
If I connect this client to another AP I do not have the same issue.
I have tried rebooting the router and resetting the WiFi settings.
Has anyone else seen this problem before?
Is there a way to figure out why the router is sending the deauth requests?

ATT TrueBridge Mode for for Ubiquity Security Gateway (USG)
So, I have taken the plunge and replaced my PFSense firewall with a Ubiquity USG. This is an affordable device, around $110 on Amazon, and is the perfect companion to Ubiquiti Unifi wireless access points and its controller if you happen to use any. For the same reason as "rockstar" did with his PFSense thread, I decided to open up a separate topic for those searching for information, without having to go through the "True Bypass" monster thread.
During my research before purchasing, I came across this gem:
https://blog.taylorsmith.xyz/att-uverse-modem-bypass-unifi-usg/
It explains in clear steps what you have to do. The most difficult portion is the trimming of the .json file somewhere halfway. I spent a good 20 minutes on it, and the examples that were given on the site above were of good help.
Remember: when you start following the guide above, you will eventually disconnect from the internet, so make sure you have all the sites open you want open, and have all the files you need before proceeding. Make sure you read every step, don't skip any.
PROS:
Latency decrease. As if the gigapower itself wasn't good enough, a ping to 8.8.8.8 has changed from 3-4ms to a solid 2ms. If you are further away from bigger datacenters, the latency decrease can actually be noticeable.
Speed: Speedtests are the same, really.... 930/930 to 940/940, the maximum you can push through gigabit. No change.
DPI: This is with deep packet inspection enabled on the USG, so you can really keep check to see where your data is going. This is actually a cool feature, it shows you exactly how much hundreds of applications take in data, ranging from Facebook to P2P/Torrent to Netflix to OneDrive to Speedtest.net to Gmail to online games, you name it, and all displayed in a userfriendly and accessible way.
CONS:
No decent IPv6 support yet. Ubiquiti is working on it, and current firmware has "alpha" support for it, but it will be coming soon. If you need IPv6 NOW, don't use this.... if you can wait a few months till Ubiquiti really has their IPv6 ironed out, we may be able to get it to work in a similar fashion. It may actually work now, I just haven't gotten around to really testing it yet.
NEUTRAL:
I have static IP's. I have them mostly "just because", for the geekness of it, to run servers etc.... but the reality is I managed to consolidate all those back to the one DHCP IP for now (which never changes anyways), so I can take my sweet time figuring out how to get them to work. I'm sure its not that hard, just will take some digging.

[AT&T Fiber] Nokia BGW320-505 - Google WiFi port forwarding for Plex Server
Hi,
I'm struggling to try and enable access from the outside to my Plex Media Server on a specific port. The Google WiFi side seems straightforward enough, but I don't see how to enable port forwarding on my AT&T Fibre Nokia BGW320-505. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

[VDSL] New service - VDSL2 service (100Mbps)
I contacted AT&T for VDSL2 service ($35/month for 12 months) but was told I have to lease the modem/router from them for $10/month. I have my own Pace 5268ac VDSL2 modem/router but they said I would still need to lease from them. Why am I unable to use my own hardware?

[IP-TV] Future of U-verse TV?
I've had U-Verse TV for several years now (U200) as part of a bundle with 100mbps Fiber (can get 1GB have FTTP) and Unlimited North America Phone when AT&T finally upgraded the IFITL network in my neighborhood. The package I receive, U200, has something like 370 channels, only major limitations are poor OnDemand choices and lack of 4K support, but a lot of that is overcome through other streaming apps. I know that AT&T stopped doing new U-verse TV installs last year, but I'm curious how much longer they will continue support. I've seen various articles that AT&T is looking to offload U-Verse as a package deal with DirecTV. I'm also getting random emails reminding me that HBO Max is part of my DirecTV subscription (despite having U-Verse) and I've noticed there is virtually no U-verse marketing anymore. That being said, I was able to get another $40 off per month on U-Verse TV for another year earlier this month.
How much longer will U-verse TV be supported, and how could AT&T possibly sell off U-Verse if the signal runs over their lines?

IP Passthrough on BGW210
So I got a new router and have followed directions I found here on how to put the BGW210 in IP passthrough but still can't get ports to open for an online gaming server. I'm at my wits end here, any advice? I'm trying to open pretty common ports for Destiny 2, CoD Cold War and I have a dedicated Valheim server running (I don't know why, no one can connect to it lol). I have disabled all packet rules and turned off all firewall settings and radios on the BGW after doing the passthrough and all my devices are connecting to the new router and accessing the internet with no issues what so ever. Passthrough shows the MAC of the new router in it but the Default Server Internal Address is greyed out but does have an IP in it but it is not the one of the new router. I read about having only one PC connected when you do the passthrough, which I did last night, but what about other devices (phones, tablets, etc) connected over wifi (I did not shut off the wifi when doing passthrough)? Any help at all would be appreciated, thank you in advance.

The BGW210 wont update manually from gui to any firmware such as 1.8 or 2.5 or 2.8, just sits there and shows the update bar constantly going left to right but is not doing anything. I left it about 40 minutes to chew on it still nothing.
Currently on 1.0, works fine just wondering.
Any input appreciated.

at&t vs comcast fiber
I got dsl when it first came out and gaming was great, low pings everywhere. Later they would not upgrade my area. All around my subdivision is fiber but not me 50mb max. So I changed to comcast. Its ok but pings are over twice as high as my old dsl was. With fiber who offers the lowest pings and latency?

Is hell freezing over?
At the entrance of my development, there is a what used to be Ameritech Ped that now (within the last month) has a wooden marker next to it with the word dropthru written on it. I am beginning to think it's for conduit I have been seeing an AT&T bucket truck meeting with what appears to be a contractor weekly. The ped would be the first in the development and would make sense to the the starting point. Those that live in small developments that have seen fiber, is this how it started?

BGW320-500
Okay, I currently have att fiber 1000. My equipment is a 5268ac and its fed from the ont that the fiber comes into. I see on amazon that they have an att BGW320-500 for sale. Is it possible to just purchase this unit from amazon and plug in the fiber from the ont and be in business or does a tech have to do something? I have seen where the fiber connection that was in the ont now goes into a sfp module that plugs directly into the sfp port on the 320. I just hate to call att and have them send a tech and all if its something that I can do myself.

Around 1am it call came back.
Can those in the area check their logs? I'm suspecting some sort of maintenance window¿?

[AT&T Fiber] Best dumb switch
I'm getting AT&T fiber and will push for the BGW210 to be installed in order to allow me to bypass the awful at&t equipment. To do so, I understand I need a dumb switch. I went to the "bypass hardware list" thread, but didn't actually see much of a consensus.
What's the best dumb switch to get? Looking for the best bang for my buck.
For reference, the dumb switch will be connected to an Orbi RBK852, then that network will have ~40-50 clients around the house (laptops, tablets, phones, TVs, light bulbs, cameras, printer, smart speakers, etc.). I want to make the most out of the 1000/1000 connection, which is why I'm leaving my Spectrum 400/25 service. Also, for what it's worth, I do use P2P/Torrenting, which is part of the driving force given the amount of NAT tables generated that way.
Thanks!

[AT&T Fiber] RG replaced with BGW320-505
In March 2019 I signed up for AT&T's gigabit fiber through toast.net. I got the BGW210 gateway, and all was fine.
When Toast followed AT&T a couple of months ago and changed their fiber product offerings and prices, Toast dumped their uncapped 60 and 100 products (specific to Toast, unavailable at AT&T) and now offers only the gigabit product. The price dropped as well--it's now $75. I told Toast I'd like the new pricing, and they obliged.
But that triggered some things in AT&T's back end, and Toast had to set me up with an AT&T truck roll to change some things out to support the new pricing. They told me "new hardware". Toast handled the scheduling from the beginning; they took my available time slots, found one that worked, and sent me an email to confirm. They even called me when the tech was on his way.
So the tech showed up. First off, let me say that I've had two different AT&T techs in my house--at install and today--and each one was the most knowledgeable, professional, and friendly person you'd ever want to deal with. They were true professionals by any definition of the word. They were a dream to deal with. (Does anyone know how I might feed that back to the local field service management?)
He tells me Toast was correct: my pricing change caused a change deep in T's back end that rippled all the way through to my house. My address did get an all new account number, which is enough to trigger a truck roll even if nothing else changed. But in this case it also required that my fiber at the box up the street be moved to a completely different and new circuit. It also required--ta daaa--the new RG.
He took out my ONT and BGW210. Where the ONT was he put in a small box for the existing fiber, with the fiber ending in a jack. He installed the new RG and installed a patch piece of fiber--already made, out of the box, decently long--and connected it between that jack and the new RG.
He showed me everything about it, how it goes together and comes apart (I mentioned I may want to move my RG). He told me that the fiber goes into the small adapter--the SFP--and that goes into the RG. The "ONT"-labeled ethernet jack at the rear of the RG toward the top has a blank plug in it.
We discussed how I'm now all set up for the future in AT&T's world. He says that's the ultimate goal--to have as many houses as possible wired correctly so that it's a simple self-install for customers down the road. He mentioned that he heard plans of them offering 5 gigabit service sooner rather than later, and that this RG will accommodate it.
Upgrading their service, in my context now that I'm on the newer circuit, means that all AT&T has to do is swap out a single card at the central office down the street from me. For me to get the faster service when it's available, then, is a simple matter of someone sending me a new SFP that supports the higher speeds, and I remove the old from my RG and plug in the new. Nothing but phone calls and self-install.
The tech did confirm the new account, and made a comment about how he had to jump through a few hoops he knew in order to see my "old" account (which was still up and letting me have access into today) on his tablet. But after he called the install in, my old account was closed before he left.
Between his couple of trips up the street and our jaw-jacking, this took about an hour.
After the tech left, Toast called me to confirm that all was well. The Toast guy confirmed what the tech told me, that the new account and circuit generated by the price change also required the new RG, and that the new account was live. As for the old RG and ONT, he said "well, it's yours. You bought it. You can send it back to us to recycle if you want." I found that interesting. It's useless to me, it might be useful to AT&T, but since I'm not an AT&T customer I can't just drop it off at a UPS store for them to send back...

[AT&T Fiber] Proposal: FCC Petition to force AT&T to allow 3rd party routers
An alternative to rooting the BGW320 to allow for a bypass is a petition to make the FCC force AT&T to allow third-party routers. While rooting may get closed and is a cat-and-mouse game, this is more permanent as the network has already has to legally change.
By petition, I mean not a Change.org petition, but a legal FCC Petition for Rulemaking. I am not an AT&T customer but am considering moving to an AT&T area). I feel actual AT&T customers should file the proceeding with the FCC to show the FCC this is what AT&T users want from their service.
While this may not work, we aren't in Ajit Pai's FCC anymore. Democrats aren't perfect but they are more likely to enact pro-consumer legislation than the GOP FCC will.
The petition should be:
* AT&T (and other ISPs) have to give an individual ONT on request
* The individual ONT can connect to any router of the customer's choosing
* The authentication protocols used must be open to any user who may request to use their router behind AT&T's ONT, be phased out on request or with new gateway models, or be disabled on request
AT&T can achieve this by:
* Using pure DHCP like Cable/Verizon, or if extra authentication is desired, using PPPoE like CenturyLink
* Running 802.1X for existing customers/gateways alongside pure DHCP or PPPoE for new customers/gateways and power users who request it, and transition gradually
* When the BGW320 gets replaced with a newer model, the new gateway should use pure DHCP/PPPoE instead of 802.1X
* Alternatively, allow customers to get an 802.1X certificate on request they can load in their router, and possibly provide an actual individual ONT (SFP or desktop) in places where fiber may otherwise go directly to the BGW320
Some talking points:
* Cable/Verizon lets you use your modem/router for less, why should't AT&T?
* AT&T's router is less powerful than routers given by Cable, Verizon, CenturyLink, Google Fiber, et al. but is still required
* The passthrough mode hampers performance versus bridge mode on Cable/Verizon/CenturyLink/Google Fiber, since passthrough still uses NAT
* Do you want AT&T routers to have 0day exploits Cable/Verizon don't need in order to have an actual bridge mode, thereby exposing AT&T customers to all the malware in the world?
* Do you want unlocked Huawei ONTs from AliExpress to connect directly to AT&T Fiber network when Verizon FiOS and Google Fiber can let you plug in directly to an ONT?

[AT&T Fiber] Are we obligated to share the emux?
So we have AT&T Dedicated Fiber installed in our office, with a new install the installed an emux in our server rack, in our server room in the office.
So some next door person calls AT&T and they claim their is fiber in the building with a emux and they won’t need to pay for installs, so we had a AT&T technician show up to our office and asked if can get access to the server room to do a installation, of course the tech was denied since there was no records of AT&T showing up for a new install for our office. Tech understand the situation and left.
Till the next day, angry tenant from next door showed up and started yelling at us, how we are denying services and he needs to pay $$$ for installs.... and was told by AT&T, we need share our emux
Like, we aren’t denying it, since the emux is locked in our secure server room with limited access, and using our power..
Plus say if their service went crap and tech needs access to the server room when we aren’t their in the middle of the night?
I get that if the emux was installed for the whole building, but it was installed in our office for 10GB speeds, and our phone system... and not for the whole building.
So are we even obligated to share the emux in our server room??
