I recently moved into a new construction townhouse with AT&T and Comcast as the ISP.
October, 2019 - Ordered new installation service but rep accidentally submitted request with incorrect address (next street over) - tech arrives and found my address not on the system but said he installed the service at my neighbors. He created a ticket for address correction (which he said will take two days but took 3 weeks).
November, 2018 - day before installation I get a voicemail that they have a facilities issue that will be completed by December 29 (possibly earlier).
Today - Had my install scheduled for tomorrow but got a call today that they still have a facilities issue and now the area manager is involved. They said that they don’t have enough ports available which is surprising since this is a new construction. They don’t have an estimate on when this will be completed.
Anyone else experience a similar situation. Can I do anything to expedite the process (I.e complaint)?

internet slow or down whole Christmas break Los Angeles CA
Internet has been often slow and unreliable over Christmas, from Dec 22 to today Jan 2.
We have 45 mb/s Uverse internet in Culver City, CA.
Speeds sometimes drop to 1 mb/s or 0. (speedof.me, fast.com. Att speedtest always faster)
Usually more like 6-20 mb/s but LATENCY high- 300-500 ms.
Result- web page scrolling is jerky, loading hangs on complex pages like NYTimes.com, Amazon,
Yesterday Jan 1 even worse- frequent DNS lookup fails, 500 ms latency all day. Since 10pm totally down except for brief intervals. (back up in morning).
Ping time to att.com, when gets through, 500 ms.
I called ATT support 2 days ago. They said they did some special restart of the ATT modem/router beyond what I can do. Network was fast for about 1 hour, then back to slow.
I wonder if they gave me temporary higher priority to mollify me, then took it away.
Maybe the network is just too busy with people home for holidays and shopping?
Traceroute shows 500 ms times from first ATT router, lightspeed.irvnca.sbcglobal.net:

[AT&T Fiber] Fiber during power outage
Does the AT&T fiber system tend to continue working during power outages? In other words, if I put all of my local equipment, including the ONT, on UPS, am I likely to keep working internet when the power goes out? I'm curious if folks have actual real-world experience with this scenario.

Dumb bypass only lasts 1 hour even with UPS backup
So i bypass the BGW-210 (software version 2.4.4) with a dumb switch TP-Link TL-SG105 and a Linksys WRT3200ACM running Openwrt. After about an hour or so the connection goes down? I have all this on a battery backup thinking it was a power issue.
Any ideas? Something on the ATT side?
Am i overlooking anything?

True Bridge mode on pfSense with IPv6 via netgraph
Hi all...
I know True Bridge mode has been a heavily discussed topic. Most have had success with the VLAN swap trick or via ebtables or eap_proxy in Linux. However, neither of those worked for me. I just wanted to share my notes on getting things working in pfsense. Hopefully it helps!

Router port forwarding issues with Pace router and DMZplus
Hi, I'm trying to set up VPN to a Windows Server running RRAS, and I keep getting directed to the wrong internal IP address.
My configuration:
• AT&T Pace 5268AC router has an internal LAN address of 172.16.0.1.
• It has only one device on its subnet, a Synology 2600AC router in passthrough (DMZplus) mode with (of course) a 172 address.
• The Synology is at 192.168.1.1.
• The server is on the router subnet, with a static 192.168.1.11 address.
• I've configured a pinhole in the Pace for 192.168.1.11, for the "Microsoft VPN" application, which passes TCP 1723, 1701, 443, and UDP 500. (This may be overkill and I just need 443.)
Because of the DMZplus setting, all ports and protocols are passed to the Synology router…but when setting up the 192.168.1.11 pinhole, the onscreen doc specifically says (I paraphrase), "all inbound traffic will be assigned to the DMZplus computer except traffic which has been specifically assigned to another computer using the "allow individual applications" feature." So 443 traffic should go to the server at .11.
But when I go to the HTTPS WAN address, I get directed to the Synology router at 443 - not to 192.168.1.11.
This implies that the DMZplus-configured router is taking all traffic regardless of firewall port forwarding rules? Or am I configuring something wrong?
TIA - I need to get this working for a remote demo next week :-O.

Any ATT reps here?.
I would like to know if Monahans, TX 79756 will get fiber service this year. I was told last year we would get in April 2020 but I don’t think it will happen. We currently have Suddenlink cable and att dsl in the area. Both are slow and go out all the time.

[AT&T Fiber] Using Asuswrt-Merlin to bypass RG
Hi guys,
I successfully bypass AT&T's RG using rt-ac68u with extracted certs from both NVG510 and NVG589
No pfSense, or netgraph, or ubiquiti devices, or dumb switch needed.
I only tested with rt-ac68u, but the method should work for all Asuswrt-Merlin based wireless routers (Please let me know if it doesn't).
Basically, the AiProtection in Asuswrt auto tags net traffic with VLAN, so we only need to update wpa_supplicant which works with extracted certs.
More detail here https://github.com/bypassrg/att.
Any comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Uverse internet down this morning
Not sure what time but I know it was working fine at around 5am this morning and now it’s completely down. No connections available on my computer through Ethernet line and on my phone the connection shows up under WiFi but every time I put in the password it says incorrect password. I’m in the south eastern part of Louisiana. Have any outages been reported in that area today?

AT&T TV Launches Nationwide February 2020
I hope they add more streams. They also don’t have two main channels in my area that I like 11 and 24.
AT&T TV launches nationwide in February 2020
AT&T Communications CEO Jeff McElfresh, speaking today at Barclays Global TMT Conference, said that AT&T TV will officially launch in February 2020 and that it, along with HBO Max, will spearhead a “market reorientation” at AT&T.
“Our growth agenda is on fiber, in our entertainment group, and on AT&T TV,” said McElfresh. He said AT&T TV will feature customer acquisition costs of about half of what AT&T currently spends to bring on legacy satellite TV subscribers for DirecTV. He said the content lineup will be “every bit as good” as what AT&T currently offers through DirecTV and U-verse and that the user experience is “future leaning.”

UVerse with 3rd Party Router/Switch Multiple Static IP's
Hello,
Just signed up with ATT UVerse Business 100 Fiber with 13 static IPs. These IP's will get assigned to my firewalls. My 3rd Party Router/24 Port switch will have port 24 in VLAN 1 connected directly to the ATT Arris BGW210-700 Lan Port as per the attached jpg. VLAN 2 on my router will be assigned the usable gateway IP assigned to me from my public static subnet /28 on PORT 23 This will be the gateway for all my firewalls. All other PORTS 1-22 will be in VLAN 2. My router is not doing any NAT and doing NAT on my router is not an option as I want to avoid double NAT.
From what I have been reading, Cascade router on the ATT Arris is the feature I should be using. Right now, its working with IP Pass through DHCP-Fixed with only 1 Firewall plugged into the ATT Arris bypassing my router/switch, but this is not scalable if I need to use my other firewalls with their own static IP.
My Router Config
VLAN1 - 172.16.1.2/24 - Port 24
VLAN2 - 45.25.x.1/28 - Port 23 (GW IP/Inteface for all my firewalls, NO NAT)
Default GW - 172.16.1.1 (ATT Arris)
Ports 1-23 - VLAN2
Can someone validate the design and the IP addressing and what options needs to be enable/disabled on the ATT Arris?
Thanks,

Is there any way to bypass the bgw210-700 anymore?
I'm looking to bypass the at&t rg (bgw210) completely which I know has been done before by extracting the rsa private key corresponding to the client certificate used in 802.1x authentication. I have been working on this for some time now.
When I first started, I looked in the firmware files but soon found out more about how it authenticates and that the private key is not in the firmware but comes pre-installed on every rg. I investigated the authentication packets to extract the root ca, intermediate ca, and client certificate, and I would assume that the authentication server would verify that the client certificate is signed by a trusted ca. I am going to test anyway but I doubt it would trust my certs.
So next, seeing that at&t seems to have secured all communications and that a mitm attack wouldn't work, I went to the hardware level. I accessed the uart port (labeled bcm on the pcb) and hooked up my arduino to allow conversion to usb. I was able to see the boot log but any input seemed to do nothing. After some research I found out that it appears there is no way to get to a shell or interrupt the bootloader anymore.
One idea to try to get to the cfe (bootloader) cli was to disable access to the flash. No one seemed to test this out, so I gave it a shot. I decided to apply a high (3.3v) voltage to the chip enable pin to disable any reads/writes. It ended up always giving read errors and halting/restarting. Either it was too early where the cfe bootloader never loaded or too late where cfe already started to initialize stuff/boot. Either way it would not drop to the cli as I was hoping. Maybe I had the timing wrong but I did try disabling the flash at different times.
So, unless there is an exploit, I only see 2 potential options. Either look into the ont to see if there's anything there (which I know at&t does not want you opening) or manually reading the flash chip which would require desoldering, buying some adaptors/hardware for reading, and resoldering which would be difficult and time consuming (not to mention the extra costs). Assuming that there are no other choices, I guess the best option would be to buy a rg off of ebay or whatever and hope it has exploitable firmware (or as a last resort, manually read the flash).
The question I have is if i'm missing any options or if there are any known exploits left. I was also wondering if there is any jtag access on the board and if anyone has any additional info about the ont (like does the 802.1x authentication happen on the ont or does it just forward it to another authentication server?). Any feedback/info is appreciated.

AT&T installed everything outside today during a self install. However the modem serial number I was shipped doesn't match the modem serial number in my smart home app. The app says my internet is online when it mostly definitely isn't. [AT&T Fiber] gigabit speeds capped at 300/300 once bypassing gateway....
I'm at a loss right now, I've managed to bypass the gateway (bgw210) in a few different ways throughout the day, and the moment i do, every time, i'm capped at 300/300. 900/900 out of the gateway (wired, with cat 7 always for testing) but i go to ip passthrough, or dumb switch, etc etc. and instantly it's pegged at 300/300. I guess it's possible it's the router but I highly doubt it, everything is set for gigabit that I can find. I'm convinced the gateway is throttling the moment it isn't doing the routing. Anyone got any ideas?
