[AT&T Fiber] Is Fiber coming soon? UPDATE: YES it is!
So.... I noticed the other day that all the underground utilities in my yard plus neighbors and the surrounding neighborhoods off the main road have had locates done (electric, gas, water, sewer etc.) then yesterday and today I saw multiple AT&T trucks and contractors working and they had a large spool of Corning Optical Cable they appeared to be running near the main road or along it as well as working in those cabinets. Does this indicate FTTP is really coming???
Currently the max available is 25/5 VDSL from AT&T for my address but homes closer to the VRAD can get 75 or 100 Mbps. I am a Charter Spectrum customer currently, however if we get green lighted for AT&T fiber I will switch in a heartbeat! :) Also, my address has never had any services from AT&T since being built including POTS so we do not even have a NID anywhere on the side of the house or any copper line run.
Above is some pictures of the poles/lines/VRAD cabinets in my area, we have a mix of aerial and underground. I am not sure what is located on all the poles but wanted to post to see if anyone could spot fiber. The VRAD/green cabinet is down the road probably around a 1/4 mile or less.
Thank you in advance

[Speed Problem] Am I being lied to by AT&T?
I currently have AT&T's Internet 50 DSL service and I was hoping that there would be faster speed available. I know that DSL is a service that degrades over how far you are away from the DSLAM. Anyways, when I looked into higher speeds available there weren't any, and the only option is to switch to Spectrum for their faster cable broadband service. We are very happy with our current AT&T service (besides the internet speeds) so I started to do some research on the maximum speed of a certian DSL line. Then, I started to poke around in the router settings and came upon the broadband status section and I found out that the speeds we have currently are only about 35% of the downstream max attainable rate so that's about 65% percent of overhead which seems weird to me. Also, it looks like our line statistics are good too. We have a bonded 50/10 profile and the next profile up is 75/18 and the next one is 100/20. We are at a loop length of roughly 1300 ft to 1800 ft. Included is our line details. So, could we get a higher internet speed based on these statistics? Thanks in advance!

Bill not paid notice 5 days before due
Here's a good one from att uverse. I got an email saying my account payment was due 5 days before the payment due date. They sent me a number to call to keep my account in good standing. Something weird is going on with att. How can they say my account payment is over due and the due date hasn't even gotten here ? Anyone had this problem with att before ?
This is just plain strange

update on fiber install
Original post here
https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32391313-AT-T-Fiber-fiber-install-today-but-no-go
I just cancel the original order today, after today's phone call I get told different story. (first time was and jobs in the city where on hold) This time rep told me tried to ping the box where i would plug into and was not getting response from it and then said the build is not complete yet, i then tried to explain to the rep my next door neighbor has it, 2 houses down has it and the person behind me has it. Rep would not listen to me, as why the original order was not installed. I even went to green box box and saw the pipe that goes under the street to the other side the street where it goes. open the box and there's box in there where the fiber plugs into.
Gonna try to re order in couple days and hoping I can get tech back out.

Ping 2ms slower after 1gbps upgrade
Had 3ms ping with 50/50 mbps fiber, the ping went up to 5ms after upgrading to 1000mbps. Is this normal for everyone else?

[VDSL] Is it possible to have a 2 AT&T modems sharing the same lines?
So, I like to download stuff quite a bit, but on our AT&T Internet 50 plan it takes quite some time to download things. Our 2 pairs of VDSL2 line have good enough stats to handle more speed but AT&T won't allow more speed. I was also rummaging around our box of cables and connectors and came across a DSL splitter (picture included above). Then, I asked myself this question, "Could I put 2 modems on the same 2 lines?" Now I am here to see if that is true, I already plugged the splitter into the provided AT&T DSL wall plate and the one modem into the splitter. I still get perfect speed test results. Line stats included above. I greatly appreciate any responses. Thanks!
Note: We are on the AT&T u-verse lightspeed platform and have a loop length of roughly 1300-1800 ft.

[AT&T Fiber] Screwy results trying to see if Fiber is available
I am assisting someone moving to a new location. The building is a 4-unit apartment. The unit in the front has one address, and the other 3 have a different address with unit numbers of A, B, and C. (see image)
When I attempt to check availability of service, the back 3 units show 100M up to 1G. The front apartment with a different address, show only 5M or 10M service.
All phone lines are to the rear.
Any ideas where to turn?
I have been a DSL customer from WAY BACK at another address, and know the OHIOBELL/AMERITECH/SBC/ATT database can be screwed up.
Thanks!!

Disable BGW210-700 DHCP but keep IP Passthrough?
On my BGW210-700 (192.168.0.1), I currently utilize the IP Passthrough option to assign my pfSense router (192.168.1.1) the public IP via the DHCPS-fixed passthrough mode. I have my pfSense MAC address configured and a lease time of 10 minutes.
All that works fine. But I have an issue where my BGW210-700 DHCP server (192.168.0.1/24) and my pfSense DHCP server (192.168.1.1/24) are fighting to give leases. Clients then flip between subnets depending on who assigns the lease.
Unfortunately, when I disable DHCP on my BGW210-700, the IP Passthrough option is also disabled. So frustrating.
Is this a problem for anyone? Running firmware 1.6.7

[AT&T Fiber] BGW210-700 firewall logs
I am looking for assistance. The speeds I am getting with the fiber are perfect. However, the service at AT&T is not great. I am currently running through the residential gateway while I make some repairs to my pfSense firewall. I am noticing some logs from the firewall that are concerning to me, but I cannot find a good explanation and other customers in the AT&T forums have had no luck getting an actual resolution from support. I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me why the following is occurring:
Jun 11 09:11:25 dsldevice.attlocal.net 2019-06-11T09:09:21.065219-05:00 L4 FIREWALL[6883]: nflog_log_fw(), action=DROP reason=IP-INVALID hook=POSTROUTING mark= IN= OUT=br2 MAC=00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:00:08:00 SRC=70.237.87.XXX DST=162.243.144.60 LEN=44 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=63 ID=0 DF PROTO=TCP SPT=80 DPT=46925 SEQ=3548221476 ACK=534083495 WINDOW=29200 RES=0x00 ACK SYN URGP=0 OPT (MSS=1460 )
I am seeing a large number of these from both static public addresses on my network as well as private addresses on my network. I do not know why the reason is IP-INVALID. I marked out the last octet of the source address, but it is a correct address.

Pondering moving to ATT fiber from Mediacom
Hello everyone! I'm wanting to know what your experiences are with ATT fiber. Mainly the 100Mb package since that's the fastest that's available in my area. Currently I'm on the 500Mb plan with Mediacom and we are moderate users. Say we have a gaming pc, playstation, stream youtube (via mobile devices), and occasionally watch Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime via 4k tv's. Also I work from home but that's pretty light traffic typically. I know that cable uses a shared line where as fiber uses a dedicated line. So my question is what if any hiccups might I see via moving to 100Mb fiber from our 500Mb cable connection? The reason behind this is cost essentially. I can get the same package from ATT ($105ish a month) minus the bandwidth compared to what I'm currently spending with Mediacom ($170ish). Also if I were to drop down to 100Mb with Mediacom it would knock me down to $145ish after promotions and such. The thing I like is that ATT would be a 100Mb connection both up and down as well as a dedicated line, but, in the scheme of things I really am not sure how much of a difference that would really make. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

[AT&T Fiber] Am i hacked, or is isp to blame?
Let me preface this by saying that i am by no means a tech savvy individual, but I am above average. I've been troubleshooting on my own for 6 months, and received Zero help from my isp(s)
I have googled and you-tubed myself to death. Here are my issues, and if anyone is willing to help I will post pictures and whatever else needed to get information on my problem. I have tried explaining to my isp's support but it "looks fine on our end" is all i ever get. Then they try and send a tech out who cannot help me.
I Cannot play Xbox whatsoever, the games are blurry and pixelated, lag, rendering objects out of nowhere and a heap of other issues. I have bought 3 Xbox's to make sure it isn't a hardware issue. This is not limited to Xbox, I cannot stream anything above 480p and even then audio is a split second behind. When any movement happens the video looks like it out of sync(while streaming)?? That is the only way i know how to describe it. I have made sure that whether it be Netflix, hulu, or YouTube; that everything is set up for the highest quality. Slow browsing on sites, wifi connection drops every 15-20 minutes. I had Comcast at the beginning of the year when this problem arose. I was told I was hacked and blah blah. I had IT guys check my pc for any malware, which came up clean. Comcast was no help, so i moved about 15 minutes away to a smaller neighboring city and signed up for att fiber 1000/1000. (Great news, so i thought) Nope, exactly the same issue in every single way. I show good speed when running speed test, which has been a true burden to receive any help. When using the dslreports speed test I always get a crazy buffer at the beginning of the upload portion( I have used Qos, doesn't help any). Ive bought numerous routers, I even figured out the dumb switch bypass method and have been using it for a couple weeks. I have wireshark and get a lot of tcp re transmissions, winmtr shows 100% packet loss on one of the hops( i can post the picture when i get home from work).. I've read multiple times that sometimes you can't do anything about what is happening and i fully understand that. I just want to know I'm not going crazy with paranoia due to being "hacked" I live in small city and i only know of one person who plays xbox and he says he isn't experiencing anything like me. He lives on the opposite side of the river that divides us. Also, my iphone has experienced the same results even when i am on cellular service. I went to Florida a couple months ago and took my xbox with me. I had the same issues. I try factory restoring every single device i had with me while I was down there, and the same results occurred...
Anyways, i could go on and on but I think my best option is to listen and let you tell me what information matters and what not. I will do just about anything at this point just to understand what the problem is, and be able to explain in a way to att support to get help.Unless i'm hacked, then i know my isp isn't the problem. Sorry for the long post and thank you to anyone who is willing to help.

[AT&T Fiber] Run from wiring panel to outside?
I am building a new home in Volusia County, FL with AT&T Fiber available.
The builder's standard is one run of CAT5E and one run of RG6 from the managed wiring panel to the outside.
Should I have conduit run to the outside so AT&T can pull fiber directly into the wiring panel?
Alternatively, should I pre-run the fiber?
Thanks!

CWA vs. AT&T (Ohio)
The CWA and the state of Ohio are offically fed up with AT&T's lack of upgrades and poor service throughout the state. AT&T has received huge tax cuts and while returning next to nothing to the vast majority of their territory throughout the state. It is not just rural areas underserved. It is also costing jobs and this is of course a union way of drumming up public support, but it is actually true. If you are an underserved Ohioan, you can share your story about service issues and lack of upgrades by visiting: http://ATTBrokenPromises.org/OH
And I'll just say it in advance before it starts. This thread is to get the word out that there is noise about the lack of upgrades and piss poor service throughout the state. Consumers and Communities as a whole have the right to become part of this movement as they choose. This thread is not meant to become justification and a pissing match as to why there is a lack of upgrades.

they are putting fiber in my town but when for my area?
I talked to at&t phone and store. The phone people say we don't know. The store says well its determined by the city.
Ok so the city tells you where and when?
No
then why is it in homes I can see from my back yard but not available yet.
We don't know.
Is there any way to find out when fiber will be available and what their plans are for deployment into an area?
