[AT&T Fiber] Static IP(s) Not Working

$

I have submitted over 4 work orders to get a block of 5 usable static IPs to work with my gig symmetric Gigapower service. Every time they send a tech out it gets escalated around and no resolution comes of a call or onsite visit. I have been promised the tech's will escalate it to a manager and never does. I have read how others have successfully utilized the static IPs on their gigapower service but I have AT&T stumped. They have swapped both the ONT and BGW210-700 RG. I have had the NOC provisioning agents change the block of static IPs over 4 times. I can show that the traceroute dies upon the fourth or fifth hop when trying to use the static IP on a device. However the traceroute is successful on a device that sits behind the DHCP provided public routable address. What are my options? I don't want to keep paying for a service I can't use!

Anyone with a NVG599 notice the “Application Statistics” section under "Diagnostics"? Looks like the gateway is doing either Layer 7 inspection or a from of DPI. This is getting scary!

[AT&T Fiber] AirTies unlimited data promo?

I’ve been eyeballing att fiber for a while, and trying to get a handle on a future setup before I pull the trigger. I’m considering dealing with whatever gateway I get from ATT and adding a few AirTies. Checking out the AirTies product page https://www.att.com/buy/accessories/internet-equipment/airties-att-smart-wi-fi-extender-white.html This message caught my eye: Buy and Activate 2 Extenders from 5/5/19 - 6/30/19 and get our Whole Home with Unlimited Home Data offer I probably would have bought 2 AirTies anyway. If this setup gives me unlimited add-on for free on 100 or 300 it’s a no brainer to make the switch. Online chat eventually responded that’s how the promo works, but I’m not terribly confident in their response. Anyone have any insight on this offer? I’m worried it’s too good to be true.

[AT&T Fiber] Any way to bypass att modem using ASUS GT-AC5300?

Was curious if anyone else was using this specific router with att 1000 plan. If so, the options in the advanced settings have all sorts of options that look like could be use to "simplify" bypassing the modem. Don't really wanna shell out $135 for an USG. But I will if I have to if I can't get around their modem. Or if anyone else that uses this router, what were your go to settings? I tried putting the router in AP mode and it significantly improved my wifi speeds and kept them consistent.

BGW210/5268ac, IP Passthrough/DMZ+ and VOIP

Does placing the BGW210 or 5268ac in IP Passthrough/DMZ+ negatively impact AT&T VOIP service?

BGW210: filter outgoing traffic?

I found "packet filter rules", but also a stark warning that these impact the performance of the device. I have a doorbell and an IP camera. I snooped around on them an found all kinds interesting software such as VPNs, hard coded IP addresses, etc. Since the feed of my doorbell and IP camera need to remain within my home network (I don't pay subscriptions (for cloud storage)) can I use these packet filter rules to prevent any packet from the doorbell or IP camera ('s IP addresses) to go outside? Will two blanket rules like that have a drastic impact on performance?

[VDSL] Speed Upgraded for "Free"

I'm a copper-line U-Verse subscriber at the 6/1 level with 200 and unlimited phone, and have been for just over 10 years. Other than the price, I'm pretty happy with the service -- it has been rock solid and stayed up during our recent unpleasantness in SW Ohio. Checking download speeds over the past few months, I've noticed occasional speed increases up to about 30 mbps, but they would always drop back to about 7 mbps. Then, about two weeks ago, the Speed Test tool showed a consistent speed around 28 mbps over several days. Finally, I got an email last week telling me I've been upgraded to the Internet 24 tier at no additional cost. It's been a blessing, more than tripling download speeds on updates and apps. If you're reading, Thanks, AT&T! As for motive, perhaps they noticed my more frequent visits to the Spectrum website, or maybe they anticipate that I'm rapidly nearing my upper price limit on their services, but I'm curious; (a) has anyone else received this boon, and (b) is there anything else I should expect in connection with this upgrade?

[AT&T Fiber] New AT&T Fiber Gigabit service seems slow.

So, just closed on a brand new house in a brand new neighborhood. My options were AT&T or Cox Fiber. I went with AT&T because of the "no cap" issue. Day 1: I connected my laptop straight to the BGW210-700 and was getting 880mb down and about 310 up. Not bad for a fresh install. Over the course of the next few days, I was busy with moving boxes and furniture and did not spend much time on the internet. I did set up my network, with the BGW210 running in "IP Passthrough" with the radios turned off (2.5 and 5ghz) Now when I run a speed test from speedtest.net I am getting test results in the 300's both up and down. Yesterday, I decided it was my gear and did a "factory reset" of the BGW210 and disconnected all "my" gear. With just one laptop connected to the network (directly to the BGW210) the speeds were the same (in the 300's) I have called AT&T and they sent a tech out. He spent about 2 hours, he even replaced the ONT and I still have the same speeds. AT&T is going to replace the BGW210, but I don't think this is the issue. When I run the speedtest from dslreports.com I get a bit better (in the 600's) but I get a "C" for buffer bloat. Is there anything I can do to fix this? My home is wired with all CAT6 and UniFi networking gear. I am pretty sure my network is capable of full gig speeds. *All tests were done with my laptop hardwired to the BGW210 or hardwired to my network. WiFI is not the issue/excluded for troubleshooting. Has anyone else with the BGW210-700 in IP Passthrough mode see issues like this? Thanks for any and all input.

Would I really go through a Terabyte?

Considering ATT Fiber 300 - but worried about the cap, since I'm also cutting the cord. I am leaving Spectrum Cable because something went wrong with my coax line from the main box in my building, causing my digital cable box to die - and they won't fix it. They admit that there's something causing spikes that their newer cable box can't handle, but they will only give me a cable box from like 2010, or I am free to cancel. Anyway, their Internet is 400 down/20 up, and generally meets those speeds. It's $80 once I lose my cable bundle discounts. ATT fiber is in my building, too - $40 for 12 months with their promo, but with the 1 Tb cap. I am going to YouTube TV and Amazon Prime with the movie channels, through a Roku. I watch TV about 4 hours a day. It will be mostly streaming. I don't game, and it's just me here. I'm not swapping video and picture files with anyone. Do you think I would go over a terabyte in a month? Thanks for any advice.

[AT&T Fiber] Gigapower Aggregation

Hey guys! So we're 3 weeks into AT&T Fiber and thus far, enjoying it immensely. One thing I was wondering (which a few searched failed to bring up) is how the overall network/aggregation is designed at the neighborhood area? Our upload is always full speed, though I do see download speeds fluctuate a bit due to congestion (but latency always seems great). Does anyone know (in general) what neighborhood connectivity looks like for Gigapower neighborhoods? Thanks!

[AT&T Fiber] ATT vs Non-ATT equipment

I am getting ready to move down to South Carolina to start a new job and they have gigafiber available as an option. What would I gain by not using ATT equipment and using my synology router rt2600ac? It's a 2 bedroom apartment and really all I care about is being able to use openvpn to remote in from the office and be able to hit my plexserver. I ask this as I have done this process before with fios and it was a PITA having to deal with getting the verizon dvr's to work with a 3rd party router and would really not have to reinvent the wheel again.

Hey guys, I'm having trouble getting ATT to provide any Internet service to my house. I was hoping you guys could help me identify these ATT boxes that are next to my house? I'm not sure if their capable of providing DSL / UVerse...or just good ole dial up. :-D Thanks for any help you can provide. -TimJ [att=1] [att=2] [att=3]

Just got a nice deal from retentions department after calling twice. First rep couldn’t get me any deals, I got good luck with the second call center. Never had to threaten to cancel my service. Retentions offered Fiber 1000 for $60, bundled with unlimited voice for $87(1 year). My previous service was 50mbps fiber and ultd voice. I live in Bay Area, California.

Airtie & AT&T app: 0 devices connected via (smart) extender

I installed an airtie (to go with my BGW210) and downloaded the AT&T app (smart home manager). Whenever I look at the wi-fi extender's entry in the app I see "0 devices connected". Even when I stand next to it, get full bars, unplug power and see wifi fall back to 2 or 3 bars. Did I do something wrong or is the app designed to not permit the satisfaction that my small investment is doing what it is supposed to do? PS 1 I did point my browser to the airtie's IP local address and saw interesting information, inclduing things to log. However, the log file entries have to be configured/selected?

[AT&T Fiber] New house ONT location

$

I need to help from ATT techs if possible. We are about to build a new home. Because of underground utility location the fiber will come in on the right side of the house. I'm thinking the ONT would be in between the 2 side windows. I would have a 2 port cat6 wall plate nearby to connect the cat6 from the ONT to. I could then connect the gateway at the network panel or connect the gateway to the ONT, gateway to wall plate back to network panel. I'm thinking the network panel would be at the laundry room. Any thoughts or suggestions? I have another thread in networking about cat6 runs and network panel location. https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32402399-Other-New-home-build

[AT&T Fiber] RG bypass using a Fortigate?

I am currently using the vlan switch method of RG bypass and this works well enough. That said I have extracted certs and would prefer to pull the RG out the rack and never see it again. Unfortunately it seems to me this method is not possible with the Fortigate on 6.0.x firmware. I am hoping someone here says otherwise and is willing to share some tips. Switching platforms is really not an option here as I am all in on Fortinet gear with fw, switches and APs.
