Hello everyone, I had my u-verse installation a few weeks ago and noticed that the technician plugged in the power supply to the ONT into a GFCI outlet that I had in the garage. Every other day the ONT loses power and the GFCI outlet is off. Would the ONT be pulling too much power causing the outlet to shut the power? Originally, I thought that the outlet was bad and replaced it with a new one, however, the outlet is still shutting down. Any takes on this?

So, I finally noticed some AT&T trucks camped out in the neighborhood for days and I prayed it was fiber I saw them installing. Turns out, I was right. I was finally able to ditch Spectrum, who was wanting to charge me $200 setup fee to move to fiber which only had upload speeds of less than 100Mbps. I am loving the new fiber service with AT&T. It is super fast and I my ping has dropped so much over cable. To begin, I had a couple of things I wanted. I definitely wanted to continue using my pfSense firewall that I have been using for a while now and was build to support over 1Gbps data flow. I also wanted to get dedicated static IP addresses. I really only wanted 1, but I was able to get a block of 5 usable addresses for $15/mo. The installer came out and took quite a bit of time running the fiber across the street and under the house. Once he came inside, things actually moved pretty fast. It was clear he did not know what I meant by static IPs, so I figured I would take that up with support after he left. I made things easy for him and took one machine for him to get hooked up and test with. Then I set up my connection with the rest of the network. I am successfully using the public subnets feature of the BGW210-700 to allow me to manually configure my static addresses to machines behind the gateway (at this time, just my firewall). I am still dealing with the double NAT issue at this time, which is concerning. I do not currently do any P2P downloading or anything I suspect will hit the ceiling of sessions for the gateways NAT table, but I would like to not be limited by that device. Setting up the static IPs was easy. I called tech support. Got someone with a brain who was able to just give me my IP range. I turned off the DHCP server on the gateway, but left public subnets enabled. Then I just manually configured my firewall with the appropriate addresses and was off to the races. I am getting just under 1Gbps up/down in tests and the service seems to be screaming. So, still interested in getting this gateway out of the picture. I disabled the wireless and I am still using my TP-Link Archer C7 Ver 4 AC1750 router with DD-WRT firmware. I also have a Linksys WRT1900AC, but it seems a little buggy at times while the TP-Link has actually performed flawlessly.

What do you guys recommend for ATT BBU? I know it has to be 12V and 7.5AH

Does anyone have an official reason from AT&T why they have such pitiful NAT Session limits on their U-Verse and Fiber services, even when customers use their own firewalls? I just noticed the other day my NVG599 in bridge mode is showing a limit of 4096 sessions, and I can't even adjust timeouts, etc. so DNS was eating up half my sessions. Is ~1MB all they could squeeze free in this box?

I have my RG (BGW210) set up for IP Pass-Through, to my router. Do I also need to turn on the cascade router portion of "Subnets & DHCP"? If so I'm assuming I need to use the 0.0.0.0 mentioned on that page. Thanks

Hi, I was able to bypass the gateway using the dumb switch method, I gave the AT&T router a different ip so it wouldn't conflict with my ASUS router ip when I had it connected using the IP Passthrough method. When I was connected to the ATT router I was able to access it, now because I am connected to the switch I lost the option of connecting to it. Is it possible to still connect to it?

If I have to close my AT&T Uverse account(moving to are where it's not available), will I lose my email address at PacBell.net? This antique address was shifted over to Yahoo mail years ago but I am currently still with AT&T. Anyone have experiences like this to share?

So I’m just trying to clarify how ATTs setup works. We’re getting pricing for internet for a cowork office. ATT has “Dedicated Internet” which is a fiber line and starts at $499 for 10mbit. They also offered their “ATT Internet” branded version of the service which apparently has a 5g backup. The rep said this fiber service is better as it’s faster speeds for less but is fiber. So to me this sounds like it’s Uverse and a GPON network? Can anyone with experience with their business fiber shed more light? They’re charging $395 for 500/500. So I’m curious what guarantees and how this service works as they still charge a significant premium over their fiber uverse service for residential. (1gig symmetrical is $70 for residential). So is this $395 500/500 mbit service just a gpon service or is there any additional reasons they charge a premium just for business? (Verizon residential vs, business FIOS for example doesn’t have such a premium). So I just want to get a better understanding of ATTs fiber services. This is in Southern California, Also they say 8 block static IPs are $15 but 64 block is only $35 does that sound right?

I saw this near my house the other night. City permits show that this is AT&T's doing and involves trenching for new conduit, an upgrade to "CMPH" and a handhole. Does this mean AT&T Fiber is coming soon or is this part of some upgrades they're doing for regular U-Verse service? (Unfortunately I'd likely still have to go through the MDU process with my condo board's cooperation, but it's still something I suppose?)

What is the latest firmware for the 5031 modem? I have 10.5.6.529707-att. I also have voice. I'm have my modem just lock up about a week or 2 ago. When it does all lights are still on, but no internet or phone. Sometimes it will reboot in about 5 min. by itself. Yesterday it didn't reboot by itself and I had to unplug power to reboot. It seem to getting worse.

I have an unknown home network device that intermittently shows up on my arris bgw210. The modem is in pass-through with its wireless disabled. I've removed the device several times, but it continually returns to haunt me. Just my router (Archer C3200) and the unknown home network device show up. Any ideas?

I'm not going to knock Comcast, had business internet for $90 a month, over provisioned to 86/18 from 75/17. My area has been a nightmare with keeping a cable "Floating" and around 3 to 6 months have always had an issue of no service or tempered service. Now weather (wind) pixilated TV service and caused excessive modem errors and two cables hang over one another. Simply got tired of that issue and for almost 6 months, not being able to stream from Amazon or Netflix at all, in fact cancelled Netflix over a month ago because of "Peering" issues -No, everything but the modem and router was replaced and it was only a consequence over the last half year. I realize my area must have line issues for Comcast, though, well perhaps. Certainly Peering is the hidden agenda item, nobody is supposed to know about, at least on a business line. Install of AT&T fiber direct to the AT&T modem router and bridged to my router went without issues, however communication really was sub par, apparently the fiber line was broken, line techs worked on it and Brian the install (house side) stated there was an issue at the pole, that was fine, long as I knew. however around 1:30pm the following day, I finally gave up trying to figure out when I would get service, it took over two hours and three reps to get an answer -Essentially there was a broken fiber line & was fixed, but zero communication regards the next step to house install. Andrew showed up 3 days after the install date, after finally getting a time/date to complete the work and he made it painless. 420/360 raw for 300/300 account. I hope AT&T can keep a line to the building hooked! I hope that I don't pay for a streaming service I can't use (only streaming I have not tested), 1080i and 760 is pretty much the same as Comcast for TV, however it's a fraction of the price, went from HD Preferred with Comcast (around 60 channels) for $144.50 + $89.99 [$234.99] for business internet to TV 450 (around 500 channels) and 300/300 fiber for $205 with tax. Downside? Well, perhaps I went from an average 10msec lag to 23msec and don't understand why a fiber line would have significant lag? But, bang for buck can't be argued at all. Uptime is still to be determined. Have to admit I would not have done this without a fiber option, will see over time how this pans out. Cheers -NLR, AR.

Six weeks after aerial fiber was installed in my neighborhood, and as of Friday, service is showing up online as available for upgrade, so I have a scheduled tech for this Tuesday morning for FTTP1000 Mbps tier. I have three set top boxes (one Ethernet & two wireless) on U-Verse, and when the tech comes, I would like see if there’s a choice on which device to get. If it were you, given the choice, what would your preferred device be in this situation? I am planning on keeping the gateway since I will need to use it for the TVs. The trust (wired & wireless) and DMZ subnets will be on the Palo Alto firewall, via DMZ+ or whatever method the GW supports. Thanks,

Was curious if anyone else was using this specific router with att 1000 plan. If so, the options in the advanced settings have all sorts of options that look like could be use to "simplify" bypassing the modem. Don't really wanna shell out $135 for an USG. But I will if I have to if I can't get around their modem. Or if anyone else that uses this router, what were your go to settings? I tried putting the router in AP mode and it significantly improved my wifi speeds and kept them consistent.

I was looking at homes near me that have fiber and noticed 1000 mbps is $70 per month and $60 when bundled. 100 and 300 were both $50 and $40 when bundled. Have the monthly costs always been this low?
