We just got the att unlimited data plan. When we are at home should we connect to our home network via wifi or use cellular data?

Given the net neutrality shakeup that's about to happen, this seems a little overlooked, but equally concerning: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/stop-all-important-fcc-votes-until-there-are-the-required_us_58e9ede3e4b00dd8e016ece0 . Long story short, something really, REALLY has to be done about Pai. By all means, move this if it seems off-topic. I thought it was appropriate for the forum since AT&T has been the biggest source of lobbying for this change in recent years.

It's been many many years in SBC BellSouth area here in West Palm Beach waiting for an upgrade. You AT&T finally upgraded our VRAD with new cards and Streamlined profiles in the area. Unfortunately, I am on along loop 3300 feet. But I was able to move from 18 to 25. Everything is much more stable it Makes working from home much better. Still hoping for fiber upgrade to the home. Odd Line Stats and Somewhat Slow Speeds

Greetings! I recently upgraded from 18mpbs to 24mbps (it became available for me a few days ago). I am on a pair bonded connection, and have been told that I have a loop length of 3,925 feet. I am getting speed test results of between 17mbps and 22mpbs down and 2mbps to 2.5mbps up, which seems a little sluggish to me. I attached my line stats, which seem... odd. Any advice? Thanks!

Chicken and egg problem here. I hope an AT&T installer can help here? Currently an AT&T internet only customer, 45Mb, dropped U-verse TV two years ago. I found through Reddit/r/cordcutters that Toast.net resells AT&T for a few bucks cheaper per month and the big win for me, no data cap. Toast.net tells me AT&T won't schedule a Toast.net install until I cancel first, potentially leaving me without service for an unknown period of time up to a week or more. The reason has something to do with "not enough pairs" which is a bit difficult to grasp if they're using the same wires to my home. Does AT&T move my homes wires to another switch port at the neighborhood central box?

I have the Pace 5268ac with a router behind it in DMZ +. The router behind the 5268ac is 192.168.116.1 network mask 255.255.252.0 I have a device 192.168.116.233 network mask 255.255.255.0 THAT CAN NOT REACH 192.168.1.98 network mask 255.255.255.0. How do I make this work???

Will getting AT&T fiber require digging up my yard?

Looking to switch, as I'm a current Comcast internet customer who has had around 30 outages in 2017... but I am in a part of Nashville that is eligible for ATT fiber. This is a new home (constructed 2014) and my cable runs through a buried conduit from the pole to a box on the side of the house. My question is can they run the fiber through that conduit my cable is using now, or are they going to have to dig their own trench through the yard? I have a few thousand dollars invested in landscaping and sod that had to be installed after the last such project and am not at all interested in doing it again. Right now this is the only thing keeping me from switching. Anyone know? I tried to search the forum for a similar question but all I find is people complaining about ATT trenching through their yard as part of laying the neighborhood network. Thanks!

Earlier this week I scheduled a new u-verse instillation. This afternoon I received an email saying that they could not compete my order because there are already AT&T services at me residence. It has been years since we had any AT&T services here. I have called and the representative concluded it was because I have service from a different provider here, and that they cannot install u-verse until the other provider is disconnected. After going back and forth with a second representative I escalated to a "supervisor." This person and I went back and forth about this. I kept trying to explain that AT&T cannot demand that I disconnect form a competitor to receive their service. It ended up with this "supervisor" pressing a bunch of buttons on the phone, putting me on hold, pressing more buttons on the phone, then finally hanging up on me. Then to top it all off I posted in the direct forum about these demands and my post was locked. Is there anyone that can explain how AT&T can demand that I disconnect their competitor's to have theirs installed.

Uverse iOS app crashes every couple minutes

My sister recently switched from Time Warner internet/tv service to AT&T GigaPower 100Mb symmetric fiber service and Uverse U200 TV package. She claims the local channels are not available via iOS app, and that the app crashes after a few seconds of watching TV. She's called service department and escalated/left messages with some supervisor - but the calls have not been returned. She has a Pace 5268AC gateway, model IPH8005 DVR and an iPhone 6 running iOS 10.2.1 - anyone else have problems with the app? I don't have AT&T service where I live. It bothers her enough that she's considering going back to TWC. The internet service with TWC was incredibly unreliable and the reason for the switch to AT&T, but the TV service was rock solid. AT&T said she can't have DirecTV due to a bunch of trees in her neighbor's yard.

I've looked at DSL Reports for years but never thought I'd have to post. Well, I switched from a slow (slowest for AT&T) wired DSL with my own small modem to AT&T Uverse (12 megs) with their own Pace 5268 modem. I live in an apartment, one story, four units to my building in a semi-large complex of similar one story buildings. I've had nothing but trouble ever since with Uverse. I cannot keep a solid, steady long-lasting connection. I lose Broadband and Service - the lights go out, twinkle, and after a minute they come back on, slowly, and I can once again access the net. I am hardwired ethernet to my desktop; I can also use another device for WiFi (that has no phone service; just use it for WiFi; it's generally turned off until I want to use it for WiFi). What primarily was happening, I noticed, was in the day when it was hot outside that was when I'd constantly lose broadband and service; at night, I got a more steady stable signal with minimal (sometimes no) disconnects. I also got good steady connections one day during an all day rain (contrary to what most people experience). I mentioned all of this to all the techs. This has been going on for a month - same thing happens no matter what the techs do. Five techs have come out, including the first one who turned off the DSL and turned on the Uverse. I am at my wits end. I've gone through three Pace 5268 modems (which Tech #5 said wouldn't have been the problem so I should have never been given the two replacements after the original). Techs have checked line into my apartment and it's always "good." One tech sealed off two other inside outlets and made the living room outlet the dedicated outlet for ethernet (I have no landline service, just a puny small cell phone that is not a smartphone). Just yesterday I had Tech #5 come out (a "senior" tech, just like Tech #4) and he did some different things. I'm not sure what all he did but he did say he changed out some copper screws-ins or attachments (?) in the back terminal box to the apartment. I believe he said he moved me to "another line." He also checked "down the line." He also went to a switching box (I think he said switching) and completely removed my portal and gave me a new one (which was a big deal, he said). He assured me that all would be fine now. But within three hours after he left - during the evening - it all started to happen again. In fact, last night and today - and now in this early a.m., it's been happening far more often than EVER before. It's nearly constant whenever I want to do something on the 'net (meaning, whatever is happening doesn't like the signal on the line to actually work or connect). So it's now happening BOTH day and night. I called his manager's phone number that Tech #5 gave me and the manager has not called me back. I am left now to call, once again, AT&T Customer Service and get that crap ass recording until it sees fit to give me a tech. All the techs on the phone and at my apartment have been great people, very helpful. But no one can fix my problem. I've done things myself to no avail - turned off IPV6 via admin page and my computer; moved modems around the room; used my own cords; changed out a monitor, switched channel from "auto" to "1" in admin - nothing works. This is discouraging. I can only afford so much for my Internet (forget cable) and am now considering asking them to put me back on slow (murderously slow) DSL. What to do? What do these stats, copied tonight, look to any one of your most learned eyes? (Is this okay - I can try to do a screen shot if not). NVG510 Bridge Mode no go

Trying to use Linksys WRTG54 V8 behind the NVG. I tried three different setups but none seem to work, in each case the NVG failed to make connection to AT&T and had to do a hard reset to access the NVG. Anyone have the information for this setup to work?

I know there was something similar in a thread 8 years ago. but I just plugged in a Android box and it works. Speed test show it's moving at 35Megs(I have 75 Meg service). now i don't have to worry about wifi issues or running a 100' cat to the basement box.

AT&T tech showed up around 9:30. Looked at the equipment and said that he'd have to change it out. Took him a couple of hours. The wall jack for the router wasn't where it needed to be. It was in a different area (secondary bedroom). I needed two more wire runs. It's $75 for each wall drop after the free one where you want the router. That means that each extra wire run costs $150 (two walls to fish: one where you want the jack, one down the wall to the router.) Initial speed test directly plugged into the router using an older work laptop with a good amount of administrative garbage installed. Download should be better once I test with my PC. [att=1]

Sometimes I tease gateways(like the NVG3150), but they don't always actually come out, so keep that in mind. Sometimes these gateways that actually go through testing have a better chance. The past NVG3150 has not gone through testing at the time of this thread. For those curious, a new Arris/Pace gateway has gone through testing just recently. The model number is the BGW210-700. The design looks similar to the NVG3150 pictures I saw on AT&T's site. It's basically the same thing as the NVG3150, but with 4x4 on the 5 GHz radio over 3x3, and no SFP port. Opt-out of DNS error assist not working

I have tried to opt out of DNS assist: [att=2] But it is not working. I am still getting an assist page instead of an NXDOMAIN. Shown below is when I mistakenly tried to visit "get.java.com": [att=1] For info, I had checked the opt-out box over a month ago, so it should have taken effect by now? This is gigapower....

Broadband 2 red light blinking

So when I called customer service they told me that it doesn't matter if the red light is blinking as long as Broadband one is green. I didn't accept that and I'm having a service tech come out tomorrow. I find it hard to believe that something that worked for 4 days correctly would all of the sudden quit working.
