I cannot find anywhere on the ATT site to cancel my UVERSE TV/internet which I have had for 15years. Call to the 800 number and I get people in the Philippines who cannot help. How do I cancel my service? Suddenlink has made a very generous offer and they also have the Blaze network which I have been asking for at ATT. This is a billing issue which prompted me to look elsewhere. Thanks in advance.

Service Transfer Woes
I requested a transfer of service Dec. 16th 2014. I was told that the earliest date for the transfer of service 5 miles away was Dec. 29th. When the date arrived, No Show. I called several times.I was placed on hold cumulative hours. After the initial 12 hour wait, I received an automated call on my cell that said I would receive priority service on the 30th. No show on the 30th. But after engaging in the loop of automated service personnel and endless holds I was told that the technician showed up and no one was home. My father is home bound and was sitting there waiting for the phone tech. No show. After yet another 20 minute wait I was told that the transfer was on hold and we would have to pay 99. Dollars to get the transfer. As if the apt complex was at fault. This lady went on to suggest to me to go to the landlord and ask them to pay. OUTLANDISH! There was no technician. If I had not called and waited for hours we would not have even known that this transfer was put on hold. WHY? My dad needs his phone. 83 years old and caught up with the at&t loop. WHY?

45mbps isn't...well...45mbps
Ok, let me explain how this went or me:
I upgraded to bonded pair 45mbps and the first installer came out and basically ran a fresh wire from my mpoe on the side of my house and through the wall to the gateway. To "test" the speed I just initiated a transfer of a very large video game download on Steam with basically nothing happening on my IPTV (I have the DVR hooked up to my HDTV and a wireless receiver on an old low-definition TV upstairs).
The download speed maxed out at something like 4.1mbps which is basically the advertised speed.
However, due to an ordering error, I didn't get the two remote controls I requested, so tech support had a technician stop by to drop them off.
Well, when he was at my place (I wasn't home so my fiance worked with him) he somehow decided that I needed a new wire from the pedestal in my backyard up to my mpoe. He hooked it up, and they came out and buried it a few days later (24 hours after somebody showed up to mark the existing buried stuff).
Now, lately, I can't get anything north of 1.2mbps on downloads on the Steam client. Speed tests don't even appear to last long enough to get an accurate speed rating.
I am aware that any number of things completely unrelated to my actual service could be causing this, but when it goes on for months, it seems a little bizarre. Both DSL lights on the gateway are green, but I haven't run the actual diagnostic in my browser.
Furthermore, after I got the service, the little USB wireless card I was using for my desktop crapped out. I switched to a PCI-E wireless card that actually gets a better signal (100mbps). Having said that, despite going from 3 or 4 bars to a regular full strength signal (per the meter on my Windows 7 tray), I don't appear to be getting good transfer rates?
Two smartphones running YouTube HD videos will buffer. One smartphone running YouTube HD video will cause all PC games to experience serious latency problems. I have no idea if that's just the nature of YouTube even up at 45mbps or if I have a problem?
I have tweaked nothing about the connection, and the wireless card came with software which I did install and it does start itself up immediately upon starting up windows. Not sure if that's related? I would think not since the smartphones are buffering when the PC is shut off.
Any tips? Should I get the line tools? I'm not entirely interested in having tech support tell me to restart my gateway and so-forth and I can just use employee escalation if I want to deal with them. Would rather try to fix it myself (if possible) if there's a config problem somewhere.
It has occurred to me that it is possible that when they buried the cable between the pedestal and the side of the house, they mashed it and caused a problem.

AT&T U-verse expansion
I live in a rural area, not too far away from town, but a little ways out. Cable stops 1 mile down the road from me, so I'm stuck with a satellite connection (exede). Exede is just OK, it is OK because of the data limit on it. Now to get to the point lets go back 4 years ago. I ordered AT&T DSL in December of 2011, a technician came and installed it and all that good stuff. It was the best internet I had ever had considering I was going from the old wild blue to DSL. Well, that sure didn't last long. About 2 years later, I started to notice my speeds were getting slow and that my connection dropped very frequently. I called, a tech came and a direct DSL line with a whole home DSL filter. That didn't fix anything, so I just had to deal with it is what AT&T basically told me. I called again, then they had a reason why it was happening, it was because DSL was "old" and was being removed from my area and that U-verse has arrived (non fits version, copper ipdsl). They said that if I cancelled I could call and get U-verse all ordered up and installed shortly after. So, I called AT&T to cancel my DSL and order U-verse. Well, long story short, it wasn't available. I then said ok, I want my DSL back. Well... they couldn't do that either, so thanks to AT&T I was forced to switch to satellite internet which has a very small cap on it every month, it is so frustrating. I have called AT&T countless times, tech support is useless and so is the ordering department. But then, in the summer of 2013 U-verse became available on my road for a full week! I checked all my neighbors addresses and sure enough they could get internet only. So I checked mine, not available... hmm, something isn't right here, another thing that wasn't right is that the U-verse speed that was offered was slower than the current DSL speeds (DSL: 3mbps, U-verse: 768kbps...). Anyway, the point is that today my neighbors are slowly getting transitioned from DSL to U-verse by AT&T... but yet on the AT&T website it says U-verse isn't available to the people that have it... I saw a AT&T technician working on a post that had two white boxes attached to it about 0.8-1 miles from my house, I pulled over and talked to him about my issues. He said that I could get 1.5mbps no problem, and possibly 3mbps U-verse. He said the only problem was that AT&T wouldn't activate it for the part of my road i live on. Makes no sense whatsoever! I could go 3 extra miles down the road, FARTHER from either town on my road and receive frontier DSL no issue! I have become so so frustrated with this. All I want is some stupid internet, I mean HOW HARD CAN IT BE!? I need help people, help me resolve this PLEASE! I put in a research address request on AT&T's website and it stated it could take up to two weeks for my address to be researched, I was like OK, I'll give it a shot. No more than 30 seconds later after submitting that request I had already gotten an email saying that my address had been researched and that it isn't available, now that right there tells ya that AT&T didn't do anything at ALL! AT&T employees, feel free to contact me at [mod note: email address removed for privacy] to get this fixed, I will NOT reply to emails that are complete BS about not being able to get the service. I DO NOT run off a different line from my neighbors, we all run on the same line!!!!!! People have U-verse in front, behind, and on both left and right sides of me EXCEPT for me! Ridiculous!

NVG510 firmware update and such
When I got this router I went to this web site to get it to work as s bridge to my ddwrt router.
http://www.ron-berman.com/2011/11/24/motorola-nvg510-help-page-for-att-u-verse-users/
I have been using it successfully and can VPN in and such. I recently noticed some slow downs and checked back. Apparently, someone made an app that allows you to 'root' the router and put it in bridge mode properly.
http://earlz.net/view/2012/06/07/0026/rooting-the-nvg510-from-the-webui
but it does not work with the current firmware (d45) but does with an older verison.
This thread here has both a d30 and d45 bin:
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29495723-NVG510-Firmware-Update
I was able to flash the older, d30 bin and then 'root' it and put it into bridge mode. Both bins can be flashed from the router update page. The app claimed it installed telnet on port 28 but I could not get to it from my computer. The app was able to connect and successfully 'dump' and set 'modes'. In the end, I gave up and flashed it back to d45 and set it up as Ron Berman suggested. Is there any advantage to 'true bridge mode'? I am getting about 10meg down and 1meg up and have a vpn set up. I'd like a bit more 'up' speed.

Keith

IPv6 Problems with UVerse (I believe)
I've got UVerse Gigapower FTTP service. Lately I've been having a lot of websites time out. It's become annoying and closing the IE browser and restarting it usually seems to work. Today it didn't. Starting Chrome did work.
So I dropped to a CMD shell ( Windows 8.1) and ping a website I'm trying to get to. I see an IP6 address returned and a bunch of time outs. Strange I thought. I didn't realize this whole IP6 thing was actually being used in the real world yet.
So I go to my adapter settings and disable IP6 bindings. Everything is working fine now. When I ping my server I get an IP4 address and responses. Web browsing is good again.
I looked at my gateway and it says IPv6 status available with a global unicast ipv6 address and a boarder relay ipv4 address.
I guess I need to catch up on this IP6 stuff sometime. I learned v4 some twenty years ago and my knowledge hasn't gone beyond that.
Any thoughts?

HBOGo says I'm not subscribed
I've had Uverse for several years now. I have never had this problem with HBOGo before. I recently moved and had my service relocated to my new address. This is when I started having the problem. I'm subscribed to HBO but it wont let me log into the app. Is this a network issue on Uverse side or HBO? Any help on this problem is appreciated.

New Customer Day 1 Issues
Good Evening,
I just had Uverse TV installed today and it was a bit of a nightmare through the entire process. My wire technician, while very nice, seemed to be pretty new and took 5 hours to install Uverse on 3 TV's. Anyhow that is not my concern or problem tonight.
I was told by the sales rep that the DVR for Uverse was "better" than the Hopper from DISH. With that in mind I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately for me the technician came to install U200 instead of the U450 I had requested. This was clearly not her fault as my account said U200 for some reason. Anyways, she installed the whole home DVR in which she said it was the 7500 series DVR and upgraded my services to U450. The problem I am having is that this DVR does not in any way have the same or more DVR space than my Hopper did. The DVR is telling me (with an empty HD) that it can record 99 hours of HD. I saw in the FAQ's on this site that the whole home DVR should get 170 hours HD. My Hopper had a 2TB HD and this seems to have a 500GB HD at best.
Can anyone confirm that I have the correct DVR and this is as good as it will get? I wanted the very best Uverse had so I didn't lose too much switching from DISH. On the DVR it says it is a Cisco 4320. Thanks for your time and answers.

Add a second router to my U-Verse router
Hi,
I have an NVG589 router and it carries voice and internet only. No TV. It works great, strong, no dead zones. I want to add a second access point (second router, separate SSID) for my kids. I want to be able to change passwords, add parental controls, etc. without impacting my and my wives devices. I have an Asus RT-AC52U that handles these things great. Any way to do this?
Thanks

Unexplained Profile Change
I have sent a Private message on their forum and e-mailed to attcustcare, with no response. It looks like the AT&T direct forum here is closed?
From Friday:
I am down to my last desperate attempt! I have been on the phone with U-Verse for almost 5 hours now.
I had my last VOIP number ported out of U-Verse today. I am also told that my promotional discount ended today.
I have had HSIA45 (Power) pair bonded internet access from U-Verse for the last year on the 55/6 (27xxx/3xxx) each pair profile.
AT 12:25am this morning my RG re-synced.
Now Line 2 is down and Line 1 is synced at 25/2. It appears that my profile was changed from 55/6 to 25/2.
My account still shows that I have HSIA45. Nobody on the phone seems to be able to change the profile. I have done the chat, talked to tech support, sales, web connect, tech support again, and now back to sales.
They all say none of the above events should have changed the profile, but they can see that the RG is connected at 25/2 but they can not change it back to 55/6
I have 5 hours in this and I am still on hold as I type this.
From Today:
They sent a tech out Saturday AM. He was there for 3 hours. He bounced ports, changed ports, checked both pairs, chatted teir 2 tech support, sales, etc.
Both pairs are now up, but at 12.5/1 each for a bonded 25/2
He verified on his iPad that the account is set to HSIA45 (Power), but the "Service Profile" is set to 7330_25M_2M_BONDED instead of 55/6, but he could not find anyone that could changed it either.
He left saying I needed to contact sales...I am sick of calling and talking to people who have NO clue what I am talking about. SOMEONE has to know who to fix this...
It has now been 3 days!
My next call will be to Time Warner cable....
Please HELP!!!

fiber or dsl/vdsl/adsl2
I was told by an at&t agent that they installed fiber in my area (Springfield, MO). I asked an agent if it was dsl and he assured that it was not. From what I've heard at&t uverse is vdsl/adsl2. Does at&t uverse actually provide FTTP service or am I mistaken? I had u-verse before and had terrible latency but it was vdsl.

What do y'all think of this?
Hi all... service has been great from 07 Dec 14 when a line tech redid the connections for our drop wire... but 29 Dec 14 service went to hell and we accumulated 70 MILLION downstream FECs on Line 1. 02 Jan 15 tech visit redid the same connections and all was good until it rained and snowed this past weekend, and CRC errors and errored seconds on upstream Line 2 went into the thousands and hundreds, respectively. Now today those errors are mysteriously significantly lower (the RG did not retrain), and my Line 1 down FECs are back in the millions. Could there be more work done on the lines / ports / cards to clean this up rather than just redoing the drop wire connections every few weeks? Or am I simply too far away from the VRAD at 5000 feet to expect a cleaner signal? FYI, per the last tech, I'm on a K card.

I was able to access my dvr using 108.245.136.13 outside my network from home but after resetting the nvg510 I lost the settings and its not working now, I haven't touch the dvr settings yet.
What settings in the nvg510 should i configure? public subnet?

Info on U-verse Expansion
For the past week or so, I have seen a utility locate company all over my neighborhood marking all utilities. Yesterday when I got home, there was a flyer on my door that said U-verse is coming to my area. It was very generic stating that we should leave gates open, bring in pets, etc. so that they could do their construction. The flyer was stamped with a contractor name that is doing the construction.
Is there any way for me to find out what flavor of U-verse is coming into the neighborhood? It is a fairly new subdivision with some houses still under construction and oddly already has AT&T copper in conduit to every home. I'm just curious what the plans are...FTTN, FTTC, or FTTH? Why would they need to bury more cable with what is already there, unless they are planning on changing over to fiber?

Trouble with Youtube/Google in Dallas?
Historically I've had no trouble with either Google services or Youtube. About 3 weeks ago, Youtube videos started taking much longer to load and/or required a lot of buffering in the middle. SD, HD, doesn't matter. Sometimes a SD video can take ~5 minutes to start playing now. A nice little "Having trouble?" bar pops up and explains why videos might be slow but doesn't say anything useful other than AT&T is only good for SD, supposedly. :P
Gmail frequently doesn't load anymore without a lot of retries and loading a page of images in a Google image search results in a lot of nothing. Most images won't load anymore.
Most other web browsing works fine and at normal speed. Going to AT&T's speedtest site shows I'm doing ~24mbps down speed. File downloads from most places can max out near that speed, so the issue isn't my connection to the AT&T network or the internet in general.
Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with Google and/or Youtube recently, and if AT&T is possibly throttling them in some way.
Thanks.
