My U-Verse service started to lose service yesterday afternoon (12/23/2014).
Service: 12 Mbps/1 Mbps; No phone
Modem: Motorola NVG510
Issue:
The modem constantly reconnects i.e. broadband light flashes green -> solid then service light flashes green -> solid. After 10 to 20 seconds, the connection drops.
I took a look at SNR and Attenuation when the modem successfully connects, and right before the connection drops.
Successful:
Downstream Upstream
SN Margin (dB) 6.1 11.9
Line Attenuation (dB) 27.0 14.1
Output Power (dBm) 19.3 11.9
Errored Seconds 0 0
Loss of Signal 0 0
Loss of Frame 0 0
FEC Errors 0 0
CRC Errors 0 0
Right before the connection drops
Downstream Upstream
SN Margin (dB) 6.4 14.7
Line Attenuation (dB) 27.0 14.1
Output Power (dBm) 19.2 11.9
Errored Seconds 11 0
Loss of Signal 0 0
Loss of Frame 0 0
FEC Errors 0 0
CRC Errors 677 0
Last time this occurred was during the summer ~ August. A tech came out and did not resolve the issue. He redid some wiring and said to wait a day for the internet to come back.

AT&T cannot resolve my Gigapower speeds dropping almost daily....
I have gigapower in my area and currently the highest gigapower speed you can get in my area is 120/120. I can test my speeds daily and I would say 5/7 days a week my speeds will be VERY slow for a period of time. It's random. There is no pattern what so ever. At times it will last 10 minutes or hours. The speeds drop as low as 5/20 (down/up).
For instance right now I'm getting 6.23 down and 31 up. I've had techs out here 3 different times. Each time they scratch their heads, call/chat with a tech and later on my speeds are back to where they should be. Later that night or next day the speeds drop again.
Do I have any recourse? I'm pretty frustrated over this lack of knowledge on AT&T's staff part. They can NEVER tell me what fixed it or why it is slow.

Error Unknown Network Error disconnects in Dallas.
I am downloading 5 files simultaneously from 5 different file hosts.
Now the downloads are all stopping at the same time in mid download showing the download speed dropping to 0 kB/sec and then disconnecting saying error unknown network error.
The file hosts are uploadrocket, kingfiles, hugefiles, 180upload, uploadable.
I have done this before just an hour ago downloading 5 other different files from those same 5 file hosts simultaneously without any issue.
I also don't have anything else downloading or uploading while I am trying to get these 5 files.
They are not the same company so I think the issue is with AT&T.

Pace 5031NV-030 settings & stats
So we got our installation done today. As Just Anon portended, we got a Pace. I found nothing here on such; I'm looking at the various pages on it trying to learn more.
Since I'm doing this all over Team Viewer, I had to do screen dumps and transcribe some of the stats, see the enclosed.
Down | Up
User Rate | 21215 kbs | 2047 kbs
Max User Rate | 55392 kbs | 12536 kbs
noise margin | 21.8 dB | 29.9 dB
Atten | 19.2 dB | 17.2 dB
Ratecap | 54351 kps
Atten@ 300Khz | 9.6dB
and the DSL Diags page C_5_3 looks interesting.
Comments/info sources welcomed.
Other threads have talked about loop length, profile and VRAD card type; can I tell those on this unit?

Wireless channel change resolves halved (wired) download bandwidth problem?
For the past few days, my U-verse Max service, which is supposed to be 12Mbps down, was getting between 800Kbps and 7Mbps. AT&T online support resolved the problem, they said, by changing the wireless channel on my 3600HGV gateway from Auto to Channel 6. The mystery to me is that the wireless network on the gateway is not being used, so how did a potential channel issue impact the wired download bandwidth connectivity so badly? I have a separate router (running in Bridge Mode) providing my wireless network and it pre-dates the change from DSL to U-verse. There was no problem until the last few days, so can anyone explain how an idle wireless network was causing my download bandwidth via a wired connection to be more than halved? I don't see any other nefarious activity trying to assault my gateway. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

New Customer Day 1 Issues
Good Evening,
I just had Uverse TV installed today and it was a bit of a nightmare through the entire process. My wire technician, while very nice, seemed to be pretty new and took 5 hours to install Uverse on 3 TV's. Anyhow that is not my concern or problem tonight.
I was told by the sales rep that the DVR for Uverse was "better" than the Hopper from DISH. With that in mind I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately for me the technician came to install U200 instead of the U450 I had requested. This was clearly not her fault as my account said U200 for some reason. Anyways, she installed the whole home DVR in which she said it was the 7500 series DVR and upgraded my services to U450. The problem I am having is that this DVR does not in any way have the same or more DVR space than my Hopper did. The DVR is telling me (with an empty HD) that it can record 99 hours of HD. I saw in the FAQ's on this site that the whole home DVR should get 170 hours HD. My Hopper had a 2TB HD and this seems to have a 500GB HD at best.
Can anyone confirm that I have the correct DVR and this is as good as it will get? I wanted the very best Uverse had so I didn't lose too much switching from DISH. On the DVR it says it is a Cisco 4320. Thanks for your time and answers.

Anyone have IPv6 enabled on a 5031NV-030 RG?
Has anyone got IPv6 (6rd) enabled on a 5031NV-030? Since AT&T is blocking IPv6 tunnels, I need to get this enabled in my replacement RG for a specific client project.
I had IPv6 enabled on my 3600HGV which a tech swapped out yesterday for a new 5031NV-030 while resolving a loss-of-bandwidth problem. When I first got U-verse it took one 5 min phone call to get IPv6 enabled on the 3600HGV. The tech spent almost two hours in online chat with his support who claimed it was enabled on my 5031NV, but it wasn't, and then I spent a couple more hours on the phone being bounced around among the various support groups, none of whom seemed to know *anything* about IPv6!
I believe it already has the latest available firmware (9.8.1.489233-att) according to uvrealtime.com. The ATT compatibility test (https://esupport.att3.2wire.com/online-tool/compat-tool) says it needs a firmware upgrade (which I hope just means the same as the feature needs to be enabled).
The RG's Diagnostics Link Tree (below) suggests it is there but disabled, just like it was originally on my 3600HGV, so what does it take to get this enabled?

It is very frustrating that AT&T doesn't seem to have an accessible ticket system that would enable issues to get tracked and escalated when they are not resolved at a lower level.

How to get AT&T to install U-Verse to my house?
Hi all,
I am in a unique situation. I do not have AT&T U-Verse because the VRAD and fibre connections stop 6 doors down the street from me. I am stuck with crappy DSL at 4.5 down and .50 up while my neighbors laugh at me with their new GigaPower speeds. Who do I call to get this fixed? Customer service was useless, calling the city engineers got me no where, and I found nothing in the forums. All I want is for them to extend their fibre service just a little farther so that my wife diesn't have to drive to Starbucks if she has a large file to upload. I currently live in 75013 and my home is about 8 years old. I appreciate any adice you can give me.
Thanks,
J and C

Uverse wireless receiver rebooting since adding a chromecast?
I have a wireless receiver on my HDTV (a remote receiver, not the main box) that has been rebooting a lot since hooking up a chromecast to the same tv as the box. Nothing else on my Uverse system seems to be affected, and the problem goes away when the chromecast is disconnected. Is the chromecast not u-verse friendly?

att website only pushes uverse now
So att has gone backwards in speed, dsl was 6mb ( you can choose dsl, but they will transfer you to the uverse page), now since the forced uverse came along, it drops to 3mb. They incredibly want 46 bucks for 3mb plan! The same problem with landline, you can choose it, but it comes up as uverse voice.
What can I do to get real POTS service, the copper line is still going from the house to the pole.

Device Priority
Hello,
I was wondering how to set device priority in order to make the internet to go faster and allocate more bandwith to various devices. I have an Xbox One that only gets around 500kb/s and sometimes less when I am trying to download games. My service is supposed to be for 10mb/s but it the download won't go any faster.
Thank you

Goodbye Uverse/att
I was on the 45mbps uvers internet only package. Have been a loyal customer since 2009. Called retention department and asked that there competition had 50 meg burst (comcast) for 39.00 a month. asked if they can come close to that. They bundled voip (did not need) to bring it down to $50.00 per month (10.00 cheaper). 2 days later I get an email that my billing was incorrect it should now be +5.00 per month. Called back to cancel now they are charging me 180.00+ to cancel. I was so mad that there retention department will not compete/will not try to keep there loyal customers/ will not match competition price. This company is so behind the times that they don't care about customers any more. I'll pay your dam early termination fee (180+) and will never ever come back.
I get my return # and account number. I am asked to take my equipment to ups store. There are 5 other people dropping off there uvers modems in line. When my turn comes to return the device I ask the lady that works there if they are getting alot of these devices. She tells me all day every day (this month).

NVG589 - Issues, errors
I have had my U-Verse for a few months now and the issues and errors continue to get worse.
If I schedule to record a channel, then tune to that channel while it is being recorded, the video and audio are out of sync. Some other channels are also out of sync. If I stop the recording, all is good.
I have a wireless box that randomly looses signal forcing a message to Press OK on the remote... Sometimes that works, other times I have to unplug the wireless box.

Was Max Plus download speed increased this year
I vaguely remember something about the download speed of the various U-Verse internet packages being increased this year.
Not complaining mind you but I'm on Max Plus and see 24Mb/s consistently.
All the online info on the Uverse pages still say Max Plus is 18Mb/s.
Any insight appreciated.

AC1900 R7000 Nighthawk -ATNT - Wireless will not work
Hi,
I have a ATNT Uverse internet connection and was using an Asus RT-N66U Dark Knight. Just got a netgear nighthawk router but can't get a wireless connection. I have a Atnt Gateway Wire 3600HG modem.
Following are the settings On the Atnt Modem:
Wireless Disabled
In the firewall section, I have the nighthawk allowed in DMZplus mode
On Nighthawk, I have DHCP as internet connection.
I am able to get a wired connection but can't get wireless.
When using the wireless connection on my Win7 computer, the connection bars in the windows task seem to show a connection that goes on/off for the internet but when i try to browse to a site during the short time the connection is on, it doesn't work.
Any tips, Thanks.
