I've been successfully bypassing (for several months) the AT&T U-verse supplied gateway/router (3801HGV) and using my own DD-WRT based router to acquire the 3801HGV's external IP. My own router previously renewed the DHCP lease successfully. This avoids an extra layer of NAT and allows me to use great DD-WRT features.
The 3801HGV received a firmware update (6.9.1.42-enh.tm) yesterday and my config was reset. Once I re-established the DMZPlus for my DD-WRT router, I noticed the lease time was only 10 minutes. The DD-WRT router could not renew the lease, and once it expired, the router lost the external IP again. I repeated the setup and got the same results.
Any one else bypassing the AT&T router and having this same issue? Any ideas how to fix it?
All help is appreciated.
