I have had constant internet interruptions from about 7 pm - 3/4 am for about 4 months. My Pace 5031NV router will blink red for 10-30 seconds then back.
Before I upgraded to U-verse, the regular DSL/Phone line would get occasional static on it. The line got so bad that the AT&T tech at that time moved us off our original line to an unused line and fixed the issue then. After we got U-verse DSL, we had an issue where we lost internet for about 5 days. The tech then noticed we were not on our original line and moved us back.
I've had an AT&T U-verse Tech out before and he said that the line from the wall outlet to the box is a spliced line and could be causing the issue. The U-verse Tech wanted to drill through the floor because he was unable to run a clean line from the position where the line is coming from between the baseboard and wall. He yanked on the line and couldn't get it to move. He said that he couldn't run the line from the box to the baseboard wall position. The only way he could do it is to drill from the floor which isn't carpet but tile. I told him I don't think I want him drilling a line through the floor especially when I believe the pole line is the issue. The interruption occurs during the evening so it doesn't show up while he's here. We do get evening breezes/winds at night which could cause this problem. I mentioned to him that the problem only occurs at night and that during the day, my connection is perfect. I had him put the U-verse box and jack back together and left it as is. He mentioned that he was surprised that we were able to get U-verse since we were pretty far from the VRAD box. We're far enough from the box that we aren't able to get U-verse TV. We did not have any issues with our internet for over a year and a half since the incident were we lost it for 5 days. The 5 day interruption was storm related.
Does anyone have any advice about what I can do to get them to check the pole lines or if they have this issue and how it was resolved?
