So, I've subscribed to Uverse since 11/2008. I started with the triple play, then just Tv & Internet. For about 2 years it's just been the Internet service.
There was no cost(monthly fee) for the gateway up until last year. At that time AT&T starting charging $2/month. As of March 1st, 2014 that fee has increased to $4 per month. This is in addition to the 25% increase of my 3mbs fiber optic internet service.
Who thinks I want to pay $48 per year for something that was once free? Especially since 2008 I've paid approx. $2700 not including service for TV & phone? How could that not have covered the one time fee of the residential gateway?
Anyway, is it possible to swap out the 2Wire for a comparable Netgear or Linksys or some other brand? That I can pay for in full?
