I am scheduled to have U-verse installed on Friday. I have a media center panel (Leviton) installed in my basement and I was labeling wires to make it easier for the installer to install the equipment. I noticed that my 6-way splitter mounted in the panel was labeled with the following:
"5-2150MHz SPLITTER - ALL PORT DIODE STEERED DC PASS"
Seeing this a red flag went up. From what I remember these splitters need to be bidirectional. I'm assuming so different boxes can communicate with each other. Seeing "Diode Steered" made me think diodes are one way devices and this was not a bidirectional splitter. Am I correct? What specs should I look for in a splitter to be compatible with the U-verse coax method of TV delivery (Can't remember the technology method acronym for this at the moment.)
Thanks.
