A relative of mine recently tried fixing with modem syncing issues she was having on DSL. She was then upgraded to U verse since they didn't want to deal with her DSL issues. They gave her a different price quote than the one appearing on the bill. A call to them got the reply "You had DSL so you don't qualify for our lower prices."
I currently called them about the matter and told them they should have evidence of them offering it since it was done through their website. They said they would return my call in a few hrs to up to 24hrs. Really, up to 24hrs?
Current service is satisfactory but new price is obviously the issue. Is there any way to get ATT to easily budge on this? I had 6Mbps DSL 10 yrs ago for about $35 a month. Not sure how exactly 3 Mbps for $30 is the deal of the century they don't want to budge.
Obviously another option is for me to move her internet service to Comcast. I have an extra DOCSIS 3.0 modem around and Comcast offers the economy tier for cheaper than that and even without discounts it's $30 which is what ATT's price is with discount. Does threatening to leave help on this matter? It usually helps with Comcast. They love keeping people around. ATT didn't give me the feeling they gave a crap.
