I have had U-Verse 1gig fiber service since 2016, and it has been trouble free until about a week ago. I logged 15 disconnects in a 5 hour period, and that trend has continued every day since it began. I've called support and they sent a new modem, it did not resolve the issue. All tests that I've ran show no line noise. I replaced my own router with a brand new Netgear Nighthawk, having seen a bad switch cause problems in the past, but that didn't change anything. I've disconnected other devices, disabled WiFi, leaving only 1 PC connected via Ethernet, and the disconnects still happen. When it happens, I'll lose internet for several minutes where the modem lights appear to be fine, then after a couple minutes the Service light goes out, then comes back flashing, then steady and I'm reconnected. I may stay connected for several hours, or it may disconnect every 10-15 minutes for an hour or 2. So far support has replaced the modem, the following day when it continued they asked me to disconnect my "3rd Party Device" It's a modem, everything connected to it is a 3rd party device, but I disconnected my Netgear router and that had no effect. Now they said they will monitor the line and call me back in 24 hours, but if anyone has any ideas, or solutions, I'd appreciate it. I'm a telecommuter, working from home, so reliable internet service is essential for me. I started typing this as soon as it came back up, and by the time I tried to post, it was down again. I have attached logs from several disconnects today, if that is of any help.

As I have mentioned in previous threads, my promo ends in two weeks that will result in a $67/month increase so I called today to see if I could get a better deal. First lady said there was a promo for military, police, or firefighters of which I am none. Then she tried to get me to change my wireless carrier to AT&T which would result in an all of $10/month savings netting still a $57/month increase. :uhh: I then asked to be transferred to retentions. The lady there said that I should wait until at least a day after the promo ends, get socked with the full increase, and then call back and then there will be promos available for them to offer me. Is there any truth in that? Thanks for any info.

Have fiber install, internet only, scheduled for tomorrow. Had not thought about it before. Switching from cable internet, had Att before but not fiber. Have always used the same router because set up like I want it for my cams. Will new modem have bridge mode or ip passthrough? Should I ask and see if possible for a particular modem? Thanks for any help.

There are a couple of reports on the AT&T Uverse Fiber Community forum that people have received new firmware for the Pace that fixes DMZ+ (again). Version reported as 11.4.1.532484-att. No word yet on what they've broken. ;)

This is going to be long so I apologize in advance. I switched to 1gig ATT fiber last week from Comcast primarily to avoid data caps and for the increased speed. I never had any gaming issues on the Comcast connection with my current hardware which is an Orbi RBK50 “mesh” router, and a PS4 Pro. As soon as I switched to fiber I have been having lots of latency/rubber banding and lag issues. I want to continue to use my Orbi or some other third party mesh router because the ATT boxes SUCK. First they installed the Arris BGW210-700 and I set it to IP passthrough mode to my Orbi but I was still experiencing lag and rubber banding. During my reading with the BGW i tried both enabling/disabling UPnP and port forwarding the specifics ports for PS4 gaming. After complaining to ATT they sent out a tech who switched out the Arris for the Pace Model. I set that to DMZ Plus and it still did not feel right compared to the Comcast (which I have yet to cancel because I was to make sure this is going to work out first). After setting the Pace to DMZ Plus my speeds were capped at around 50d/l. I was able to circumvent that for a time by cloning the MAC or the pace in my routers settings but that appeared to only work temporarily. Long story short, I’ve not been happy with this experience thus far due to the crappy hardware ATT shoved down my throat. I have seen a few workarounds on here and other sites but I’m not sure which route to go. I’m really looking for suggestions from anyone else that has been in my situation. Primarily my issue is with gaming and the apparent double NAT using router behind ATT’s communist box. So, my question is what do others recommend to solve my issue? If I were to go the bypass route is there a “dumb switch from Ubiquiti that would work easily? Would a EdgeRouter qualify as a dumb switch? If not what switch do others recommend to achieve this bypass setup? Would maybe just installing an EdgeRouter 4 allow me to use SQM to solve my lag issues? Keep in mind I still want to continue using my Orbi or some other mesh solution. I will not ever use ATT’s crappy WiFi / mesh extendeders. I apologize is this topic has been addressed ad nauseam. I’ve tried looking through the threads but didn’t see my specific questions pertaining to gaming addressed. . Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

New service in our rural area marketed as AT&T Fixed Wireless has been installed. System uses AT&T cellular towers and frequency: LTE Band 30 - 2300Mhz. DSL speed tests show 49.7Mbps down and 23.41Mbps up with a tower 2 miles distant. The download bandwidth is about twice what we receive via Verizon cellular. This unlimited service is $40/mo for 215GB.

I have made my pfsense works very well by extracting creditials and enabled with WPA_Supplicant - thanks to the great guys like @dls, @aus, @brianlan - you guys rock!!! In addition, I aimed to something different like Cisco C1111-4p/8p, this seems like a good option to take the place of RG. Per my rough study, this baby should support 802.1x authentication, and the price is not expensive - approx. $500. Sometimes you can snag one from eBay with ~$300. Anyone has interest to bring this baby on bus? Thanks!!

I got a notice that my 2yr discount is up soon. I want to discuss keeping my bill the same but I prefer the chat feature. I cannot understand these overseas people, chat works much better. Basically I'm on a bonded pair on a 75/8 (sync'd at 90/8) profile, on the new 17a protocol and I've been told im less than 900 feet from the VRAD. I feel that I have the perfect conditions to be syn'c on a 100/20 profile at 107/24 or something similar. I posted screenshots of my current line stats. So hopefully my goal here is one of two things, 1. Your opinion on whether my line conditions look sufficient to support this profile 2. Who I should talk to so that I hopefully accomplish my goal and speak to someone who doesn't feel threatened by this request.

AT&T Fixed Wireless system failure in resolution of some SSL transactions. Using this new system for a month now. Have found a consistent problem in "logging" on to certain sites such as my bank and even my AT&T email account. At some point my VDSL2 75 internet connection went down to 1 line. I'm pretty sure I had 2 lines initially, a few months ago I started noticing slower speedtests around 60/20 mbps rather than 80/20, but never investigated. Maybe some tech stole one of my pairs? Yesterday they finally buried my temporary drop and I noticed this as you can see in the attachment. It's basically maxing out my 1 line. When I put my address in their system they show a max of Internet 50 available now. If I contact support to try to remedy this, should I be concerned their solution will be to drop me to Internet 50? I'd rather stick with my current situation than risk that if it's a legitimate concern. As I understand Internet 50 comes with an upload of only 10 and the only reason I was willing to go to At&t with 75/20 was the upload wasn't far off what Cox offers in my area (35 max).

In the last two weeks I’ve noticed a flurry of trenching activity using the bobcat trenching machines and the orange conduit with vaults dumped off very couple of blocks. Is this indicative of Comcast ( node +0) or att fiber coming ? Since the conduit is still being put in it’s still early to tell. In some areas it seems to go near att fiber lines and in others close to Comcast. Any idea ? We have telephone poles too ( with moslty copper) but they are still putting in these vaults and trenching. Any ideas ?

Hi, I've been searching for information on various site's for the info. I was looking for, so far I can't seem to locate it. I know there are supposedly several antenna's contained inside the router. Does anyone know about this, thanks for any help provided. I know eventually at&t U-verse will be eliminated..so I feel as though the company won't be offering anymore new equipment.
