When I log into the ATT smart home network app I see 7 devices. My Asus router and the devices below. Does anyone know what the "Other CiscoSpv device" is? They don't show up on my ASUS router client list. I'd be so grateful if someone here could test something for me. I'm running a Netgear R7000P using the dumb switch bypass method. If I go into the router and configure it to use DNS IPs that I specify rather than let the router get the DNS info from AT&T and click Apply, when the router comes back up the IP Address field (in the Internet IP Address section) shows 0.0.0.0 as do the DNS fields. Sometimes all of the fields in the Internet IP Address section are 0.0.0.0. Either way, Internet access is gone and the only way to get it back is to reboot the router. Netgear Support can't reproduce this and I'm wondering if this is a function of how I'm bypassing the RG. They asked if I had any other Netgear router to test with since the underlying code is the same across all of their consumer-grade routers. I don't, so that's why I'm here asking for someone's help. OR, I know there are people here who understand the technical details involved in this method of bypassing the RG. Is this behavior "normal" because of how we're "gaming the system" in order to avoid using the RG?

Att working at the corner of my yard and put this new box in I’m hopping for Internet all we can get here is pots they recently ran fiber down the highway and stopped about 2 miles from this box on the cable it says 600 pair and there are 3 of them. Any info would be Appreciated thanks

I have a relative that just got ATT Fiber installed. However, there is only one tech that services the area where they live. The problem is that the tech forgot to put the WAN MAC (I think) of the gateway on their account. Can she just call in and give them said MAC address? They ordered the 100 megabit service with U-verse TV, and are currently still having to use their DirecTV service. Hence, the tech was only above to install the data service. WTF!

Thinking about getting a USG and cloud key for the USG bypass method to go with my Netgear RAX 80 router that would be put into AP mode. However, I currently have Att digital voice service as well in a bundle and Directv. I don't think bypass is possible unless internet-only. What is everyone using for their home phone service? I need to have home phone for my parents.

Contacted ATT for any discounts as my current discounts had expired. Was able to get the $10 per receiver monthly fee removed. Support indicated this had started about 2 weeks ago.

So far this morning I've seen one yellow tent blown over showing the guts of a busted up cross box that hasn't been fixed in over a year (yes, the tent has been there that long). Also noticed a VRAD with a door hanging open flapping in the breeze. I guess over the years everyone who gave a crap has been laid off or retired. Of course, they aren't allowed to fix anything without an engineering work order anyway.

Currently we have our internet coming into the house via coaxial to the gateway/router in the center of our house through the crawlspace in our roof. From previous experiences with talking to AT&T installers that wanted to upgrade our cables from coaxial to Ethernet wanted to just punch a hole next to the NID box into the bedroom that is the corner of our house and move the gateway there and call it a day. The installers don't want to go into the crawlspace to do the work correctly as that would take more time and effort. We have been reluctant to upgrade to Ethernet because of this. Fast forward to today. In my area, AT&T runs their fiber optics on the pole to the house above ground. I am considering upgrading to AT&T's fiber optics and was considering doing half of AT&T's job by preinstalling conduit in the crawlspace to where the fiber should go so all AT&T has to do is push the fiber through the conduit. My question is if there is an minimum size requirements of the conduit for AT&T to push the fiber through. The conduit will most likely be a straight line to the drop spot. Thank you in advance!

This evening I was in my closet and happened to glance at my ONT and all the lights were solid and the red "Alarm" light was lit too. It appears as if the ONT is locked up. Strangely though my Internet and U-Verse TV work fine. Should I do anything or just leave it alone? I don't want to fix something that isn't really broken. I have Fiber 100 and U-Verse TV. Thanks.

I have had Uverse phone for many years. I know in the past, AT&T was required or had internal policy to provide battery backup if you had telephone service through Uverse. By default, it was supposed to be installed if telephone service was part of your services. I remember a few years ago, some people at AT&T were confused on whether AT&T was required to provide battery backup with Uverse telephone. Around 2013 or so, I learned of this confusion when initially customer support refused to replace my worn out Belkin AT&T-provided backup for the Uverse box. After a complaint with the Texas Public Utility Commission and then later talk with the AT&T corporate office, in response to my PUC complaint, I learned that AT&T does provide battery backup if telephone is part of your Uverses services. At that time, the AT&T Corporate office arranged for my AT&T-provided battery backup unit to be replaced. Now, I am having a similar problem: Yesterday, my Uverse box went out. An AT&T technician replaced it today. The new unit is a Motorola NVG589. It has a compartment for a battery backup but my unit did not have a battery installed, and the technician did not have a battery with him. He recommended that I request one from AT&T. I am now on hold while talking with a representative at 800-288-2020. After a vague discussion, that person, when I directly asked, refused to provide a battery and told me to contact Belkin. Since my other experience was in 2013, I am wondering if the law/AT&T own policy has changes and it no longer provides battery backup for phone service. Is AT&T, in Texas, required to provide battery-backup with telephone service through VoIP?

Hello any help would be appreciated. I recently switched from comcast business (paid to get out of contract) to ATT Gigibit service. The gateway provided by ATT has no true bridge mode, and even when using IP Passthrough to use my router, I still have issues with NAT when it comes to having 2 xbox one's on the network. It always ends up moderate or strict. If only one is on and I reset the settings NAT returns to open, as soon as the other is turned on both go Strict or Moderate. ATT support has been zero help with this issue. The gateway provided does not have UPNP and can only open a port for a single device. The device is BGW210-700 My router is the ASUS AC 3100 Firmware is up to date. I have never seen this. Please help! I've searched several att threads and see same issues, most of the "work-arounds" people have come up with don't actually work.

So I’m just trying to clarify how ATTs setup works. We’re getting pricing for internet for a cowork office. ATT has “Dedicated Internet” which is a fiber line and starts at $499 for 10mbit. They also offered their “ATT Internet” branded version of the service which apparently has a 5g backup. The rep said this fiber service is better as it’s faster speeds for less but is fiber. So to me this sounds like it’s Uverse and a GPON network? Can anyone with experience with their business fiber shed more light? They’re charging $395 for 500/500. So I’m curious what guarantees and how this service works as they still charge a significant premium over their fiber uverse service for residential. (1gig symmetrical is $70 for residential). So is this $395 500/500 mbit service just a gpon service or is there any additional reasons they charge a premium just for business? (Verizon residential vs, business FIOS for example doesn’t have such a premium). So I just want to get a better understanding of ATTs fiber services. This is in Southern California, Also they say 8 block static IPs are $15 but 64 block is only $35 does that sound right?

I got the inspiration from the Century Link forum for mapping availability of ATT Fiber in a particular area. The idea is to grab a box on google maps using two addresses (NE and SW) then get a list of addresses and pass that on to the ATT Fiber availability webpage. Hi! So I tried dumping AT&T but Comcast is proving to be less than reliable I’m stuck at 50/10 on a single pair, my neighbor next door can order 100/20, but the system says I can only do 25/5 but the tech was able to push me to 50/10 Who in the world do I contact to get this database corrected? All of these phillpene reps do not even understand and just default to “well you shouldn’t have 50 to begin with” This is very frustrating, and I’m not sure where to go from here? They are willing to sell me a 2nd AT&T internet line, so I know there are free pairs down the street. (Yes I know a lot of FEC, thunderstorm here the other day)

Where can I find information on U-verse router.   I presume this is the network gateway. My problem is Speedtest.net results are 11mbps on my Gigabit fiber optic line using my VPN. DSL speedtest is 9mbps. My network gateway is 5268AC FXN. VPN customer support asks me to check udp and tcp ports on my router.  I do not know how to do this.  Can anyone point me toward info so I can learn.
