[AT&T Fiber] Why won't AT&T use existing empty conduit for my FTTP install?

I'm trying to get an FTTP install with Toast net. AT&T recently buried conduit in my subdivision by horizontal drilling and put in fiber for FTTP. I'm at the end of the line on my side of the street. The conduit they buried exclusively for my premise goes no further. When the AT&T tech came to do my install he discovered that my conduit has no fiber in it. At the far side of my neighbor's property is the nearest lighted fiber. This is where the other end of the conduit for my property terminates. I'm hoping someone can explain why my fiber install is being held up. I was told a burial crew needs to run fiber across my neighbors lot and mine without using the empty conduit. The existing conduit can't be used for future expansion since the street, where the air fiber originates, is the only thing beyond me. If they use the existing empty conduit, only the service drop from the hand hole in my yard will have to be buried. I've been on hold for over two weeks waiting for something to happen. This doesn't make any sense to me. Why would AT&T pay to drill a new conduit and not use it? Any explanation will be appreciated. Mine is listed as an enterprise install.

Hey all, just wondering if anyone here has any clue when we can expect At&t Fiber to be rolled out to residences in Milwaukee. Has anyone heard anything? Milwaukee was announced Dec 7 2015, and I don't know of anyone outside of some apartments or condos that can get it. Last year I saw a bunch of orange conduit being buried, but really haven't seen much lately. Now that Spectrum is offering 300mbit in southeastern Wisconsin, I would think ATT is dead if they don't roll out fiber. Disable BGW210-700 DHCP but keep IP Passthrough?

On my BGW210-700 (192.168.0.1), I currently utilize the IP Passthrough option to assign my pfSense router (192.168.1.1) the public IP via the DHCPS-fixed passthrough mode. I have my pfSense MAC address configured and a lease time of 10 minutes. All that works fine. But I have an issue where my BGW210-700 DHCP server (192.168.0.1/24) and my pfSense DHCP server (192.168.1.1/24) are fighting to give leases. Clients then flip between subnets depending on who assigns the lease. Unfortunately, when I disable DHCP on my BGW210-700, the IP Passthrough option is also disabled. So frustrating. Is this a problem for anyone? Running firmware 1.6.7

Can a damaged fiber prevent you from getting full download, but permit (at times) close to normal download? Just to satisfy my own curiosity, ATT is coming tomorrow. Normally I bypass the Pace 5268AC and run a pfsense machine, but I'd dropped connection a few times and starting looking into why. I took the pfsense out of the equation. And at the moment I have the ONT connected back to the Pace. Pace direct connected to PC. Still losing connection with slow downloads. Factory reset the Pace twice. Replaced both ethernet cables. Tested on different machine using different ethernet port on Pace. Swapped the fiber from the ONT to the box on house. Inspected the visible portion of the buried fiber near the box on house, no damage. Speed testing all wired with similar speeds on all equipment. Oddly I'm getting disconnected immediately after I run the speedtests on att's site. Do these symptoms point towards maybe a damaged buried run? Wouldn't it sever the connection completely?

So, I moved into my new place three days ago, brought my modem with me, etc.. My scheduled appointment was yesterday at 8a-12p, so at 12pm with no call/text/notification from AT&T, I called to inquire as to where my tech may be (so I could plan moving/picking up things). Well, low and behold AT&T was "overbooked" and "missed my appointment" - was assured they had talked to a field tech supervisor and they'd show by 3, so I waited.. No Show.. Called again and was assured he was just running behind and would be there by 6... No Show. I call again, and now i'm being told the soonest they can actually do it is the 26th? My actual frustration with this, is that I put a move order in on August 27th, so *I* did my part, have cleared my work schedule, etc.. so AT&T could come and do this, and am getting not even a sincere "i'm sorry" from ANYONE I've never dealt with such a cluster f*ck of a company... how do they even still have customers?

So I had been paying $80 a month for 1000 Mbps Fiber with AT&T. My promo expired so I called in as it was up to $90. (Internet only account) 5 minutes later. My new promo is now 1000 Mbps for $60 a month for 12 months!! (even cheaper than my previous new customer offer) If your contract is expiring or expired don't be afraid to call in and try for a new promo! My area is Houston, TX not sure if that offer is for all areas

I pay for the 25/5 internet package. Often when using the Speedtest app my iPhone will get upload results of 10-15 when at home. Is that much overhead built into uploads? Or is it iPhone related?

Hi same thing I post on the AT&T Direct. I was tell one person in the AT&T direct post about my problem with my internet connection that been disconnecting and connecting a lot just about every night after 9 pm CDT. There has been lot of these emergency network maintenance going on with my line and message ID NAD-3302. I told him that maybe it is due to an very old surge protection or i think it was a power strip that is near 20 or 25 years old. I said to him that my Motorola NVG510 rename too Arris NVG510 after a firm ware update that happen in June. Not sure if that is the cause of it. Also told him I had a tech out here before in the spring this year. He gave me a new modem and also switch a cable out and replace it with a green cat5 e twisted pair cable. He told me that network maintenance activities typically start at about midnight local time and usually only last till about 4am local time. That is assuming they are working on it at night. Not every night is a maintenance night for your area. It kind of depends on scheduling and such. A bad or older power strip/surge suppressor could be a good and silent culprit. I would look for power loss events. Another thought to keep in mind, if the power strip is not supplying enough for the modem's power supply the modem can act erratically and drop connections even when it looks fully powered and accessible. On June 30 I went to Best Buy and I bought myself a surge Protector that is 600 jolt and has built in EMI amd RFI noise filtering (which act like a choke coil or Ferrite Ring that you see on DVI cable for computers and USB and some power plug too like for printers and scanners) to filter out noise that is on the AC (Alternating current) which is great for me since I live in a apartment. I wouldn't mind snapping Ferrite Ring on a dsl data cable I have and see what it will do and maybe make the SN Margin (dB) levels much more higher and filter out the noise where ever it coming from. After I plug the new surge protector in That Saturday June 30 the same thing happen. Last week Friday It was pretty bad it was unstable SN Margin (dB) on the downstream very low numbers and even as low as -4.3 and -5 and the CRC Errors were jumping up right away at high rate. It disconnect and connect like 24 or more time between 9 pm and 11 pm. I even had numbers showing up in the Loss of Frame to and Loss of Signal on the downstream. I called att help desk they said it might be problem with the box somewhere outside on there end like on the building or by road Even after 12 am it was doing the same for a little bit but internet was usable beside the phone that was blank and I try to restart the phone or reactive it but not luck until before 5:40 am this morning I click on Reset Device and that brought everything back to online and normal use with Downstream Sync Rate (kbps) ot 3600 and CRC Errors slowing going up every 3 to 10 mins like normal and SN noise levels are normal at 6.9 to 11. On July 7 that evening/ night same time like 9 pm CDT and same thing with SN Margin (dB) starts at between 6.0 and 11 and goes went down to the low numbers to - 4.5 has the CRC error numbers went up at a higher rate than normal. Downstream Sync Rate (kbps) was between 3600 and 3400. Than it disconnection and than connection. That even on July 7 at 11:20 pm CDT The connection came back to normal stats and working good and stable connection for about 40 to 50 mins. The Downstream Sync Rate (kbps) is just under 2500. SNR margin downstream is between 16.9 and 17.9 and CRC Errors is still at 1. and the connection still was holding and stable for the rest of the night. I was just about too put a DSL Filter on the my att u-verse see if that will help. Is there a way to do a deep line test scan on the connection. Too see what the cause it is.. I was thinking if 600 jolt protection is enough or go too 720 or 1000 jolts or higher and also is the built in EMI and RFI is causing problems. I was going to go to stables or office depot/ office max to check out what they have and buy a 1000 jolts or higher one. Matt

Hi all... I know True Bridge mode has been a heavily discussed topic. Most have had success with the VLAN swap trick or via ebtables or eap_proxy in Linux. However, neither of those worked for me. Greetings: Billing just dropped a tidbit of information I haven't seen here previously. "My account was not detected as a live streamer, so we can't offer you that $40 promotion." She mentioned also being able to detect gamers. I knew they were snooping to sell ads [1]. I haven't seen disclosed that customers are being classified this way. I suspect the authority cited to act like this will be for "network management" purposes, I wonder if they are relying on DNS lookups, Deep Packet Inspection, or something else. I have, for some time, had all of the privacy settings set to the most restrictive, and opt out of "Relevant" and "Enhanced Relevant" advertising. I don't know if those affect the "live streamer" detection. I have line-shared POTS & Uverse 50/10 bundled with DirecTV. I've never been able to get the advertised $40 bundle rate since the upgraded VDSL2 profiles came out. It is billed @ $60 w/ $10 discount. [1] Turning off both advertising preferences seems to have stopped the "invalid certificate" warning from "dsldevice.domain_not_set.invalid" that I would frequently see when browsing to various https sites. ATT conducting a Man in the Middle attack (MitM) against its own paying subscribers. Sheesh.

ethernet is slower than WiFi on Xbox1

I have at&t uverse with a pace 5268ac router. i cant stream 1 minute thru Ethernet without freezing and chopping. Wifi does way better but still freezes and chops at times. I cant find help anyplace!
