Who at AT&T knows how to fix Access ID?

$

When I placed my order, the rep apparently created a temporary Access ID for me (with the wrong email address), but I already have one for DirecTV Now and Wireless. Every time I try to "merge" the said ID into my account, it gives me an error, as a generic @att.net email was created for this account (I already have an att.net that i've had for years.. do not use but it's a good easy one, so i'd like to use it) I cannot delete the U-Verse account from the one created, nor can I add it to the other account as it just errors.. I've spoken with 9 people overseas that have NO IDEA how to fix this. I literally just need my account removed as "primary" from this access ID the rep created, and NOBODY knows how to do it When I login, since it's the primary, it does not allow me to remove it myself. Anyone know who to contact to do this?

ATT TrueBridge Mode for for Ubiquity Security Gateway (USG)

So, I have taken the plunge and replaced my PFSense firewall with a Ubiquity USG. This is an affordable device, around $110 on Amazon, and is the perfect companion to Ubiquiti Unifi wireless access points and its controller if you happen to use any. For the same reason as "rockstar" did with his PFSense thread, I decided to open up a separate topic for those searching for information, without having to go through the "True Bypass" monster thread. During my research before purchasing, I came across this gem: https://blog.taylorsmith.xyz/att-uverse-modem-bypass-unifi-usg/ It explains in clear steps what you have to do. The most difficult portion is the trimming of the .json file somewhere halfway. I spent a good 20 minutes on it, and the examples that were given on the site above were of good help. Remember: when you start following the guide above, you will eventually disconnect from the internet, so make sure you have all the sites open you want open, and have all the files you need before proceeding. Make sure you read every step, don't skip any. PROS: Latency decrease. As if the gigapower itself wasn't good enough, a ping to 8.8.8.8 has changed from 3-4ms to a solid 2ms. If you are further away from bigger datacenters, the latency decrease can actually be noticeable. Speed: Speedtests are the same, really.... 930/930 to 940/940, the maximum you can push through gigabit. No change. DPI: This is with deep packet inspection enabled on the USG, so you can really keep check to see where your data is going. This is actually a cool feature, it shows you exactly how much hundreds of applications take in data, ranging from Facebook to P2P/Torrent to Netflix to OneDrive to Speedtest.net to Gmail to online games, you name it, and all displayed in a userfriendly and accessible way. CONS: No decent IPv6 support yet. Ubiquiti is working on it, and current firmware has "alpha" support for it, but it will be coming soon. If you need IPv6 NOW, don't use this.... if you can wait a few months till Ubiquiti really has their IPv6 ironed out, we may be able to get it to work in a similar fashion. It may actually work now, I just haven't gotten around to really testing it yet. NEUTRAL: I have static IP's. I have them mostly "just because", for the geekness of it, to run servers etc.... but the reality is I managed to consolidate all those back to the one DHCP IP for now (which never changes anyways), so I can take my sweet time figuring out how to get them to work. I'm sure its not that hard, just will take some digging.

ATT/D flag in my yard - what does it mean?

$

A couple days ago I discovered 3 flags and spray-painted markings in my yard. No notification, no request for entry, no explanation. One flag is for an electric utility that does not operate in my neighborhood and says they have no projects planned. The second flag is Spectrum cable, whom I don't use. The third flag says ATT/D distribution buried cable. I know for a fact that there are no buried cables at this location. Does the flag mean they intend to dig? I understand ATT can lay cable along the public rights-of-way and easements that parallel streets and run between properties, but these flags are 30-60 feet into the middle of my 2-acre property and separated from the street by a creek. The only easement at this location might be the water or sewer line that runs to my house. I don't want ATT digging up my property! What I'm trying to find out is: ---are the water and sewer lines that run from public lines along the street across your private property to service your house considered an easement that ATT can use for laying fiber optic cable? I'm wondering because there is no other explainable easement for the location of the flags except sewer or water. My electricity, phone service and gas all come from the opposite side of the property. ---a section of my water line is attached to the underside of my driveway bridge over a creek. The driveway bridge is used for my private property alone. Am I forced to allow ATT to attach to my driveway bridge? ---if ATT does not attach to my driveway bridge, would they blast through the bedrock of the creek? btw.....I use ATT for DSL, but not fiber optic UVerse, and I don't want UVerse or cable TV. The internet is full of horror stories of ATT destruction to private property and I'm in a panic! Thanks for any information you can give me, creekgirl

5268AC and setting 3rd party router

$

Hey all. I am attempting to set my 3rd party router to pair with the Pace 5268AC RG that AT&T included for their Gigabit Fiber. I've set my 3rd party router (Asus RT AC66U) as a router and set the 5268AC to DMZ+ along with turning off wi-fi settings, disabling IPv6 and enabling detection of router-behind-router conditions. When I do this, my speed drops from 950/950mbps down to 200mpbs/300mpbs. Setting my Asus router as an Access Point gets it back to 950/950 mbps, but I can no long access my Asus router or enable wi-fi when going this route. Is there a way to get my Asus router to work as a router while keeping the 950/950 speeds and having access to my wi-fi settings? Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm reading that I may need a second 3rd-party router and use one of them as an access point, and one as a router. Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So what am I looking at?

Having a new house built. Have U-verse fiber now but the new area only shows 10mb internet with DirecTV as the video source. There seems to be the same block of these pedestals set up per lot. The markings didn't designate fiber of any kind but I was hoping with a new development that either ATT or Comcast would be smart and plan for the future. The project manager for the neighborhood has no idea what is being laid down, unfortunately.

U-Verse TV - Sleep DVR without using remote's power button?

I have my remote set to turn off/sleep the DVR/STB and TV but sometimes when just changing TV inputs, like using the Smart TV's VUDU or something, I would like to just sleep the DVR or STB without turning off the TV . I am not seeing any menu setting for suspending these U-Verse boxes. Now I am turning off both using the AT&T remote, then turning just the TV back on with the TV's remote. Is there a way to sleep a U-Verse STB with the remote (like through the GUI) other than the remote's power button?

AT&T Gigapower rollout in the CA Bay Area

Hi all, A friend of mine just had Gigapower installed at his residence in San Jose. During the installation appointment, the techs mentioned that AT&T's goal is to roll out Gigapower within the entire Bay Area by the end of 2017. Wondering how true that is? I live in a subdivision that was built in 2002 and right across from me is a brand new subdivision which is gigapower wired and yet mine is not :( Hoping they'd fix that soon as I would like some sweet gigabit juice as opposed to being stuck with Comcast :\ Thanks!

Help with Client's U-Verse Gateway Statistics

Hello, everyone: I have a new client who wants me to troubleshoot their newly-installed U-Verse installation. They have U-Verse Voice (Unlimited) and U-Verse Internet (6.0 Mbps). In looking at their gateway, I see their maximum possible rate being 5100 kbps (down) and the gateway syncing at 4716 kbps (down), not 6.0 Mbps. Since I am not well-versed in the broadband statistics that AT&T's gateways put out, I thought I would post the gateway statistics here and see what others thought about them. I am curious to know how the SN Margin, Line Attenuation, Output Power, etc. will affect their Internet service. Specifically, what should they expect to get and are these good statistics, for the real-world download rate of 4.x Mbps? In other words, is this a healthy line? Here are their statistics, right after a complete gateway power-cycling/cold-boot: Line State: Up Downstream Sync Rate (kbps): 4716 Upstream Sync Rate (kbps): 766 Downstream Max Attainable Rate (kbps): 5100 Upstream Max Attainable Rate (kbps): 1175 Modulation: ADSL2 Data Path: Interleaved   SN Margin (dB) (Downstream/Upstream): 6.1/16.4 Line Attenuation (dB) (Downstream/Upstream): 37.0/21.4 Output Power(dBm) (Downstream/Upstream): 19.0/12.0 Errored Seconds (Downstream/Upstream): 0/0 Loss of Signal (Downstream/Upstream): 0/0 Loss of Frame (Downstream/Upstream): 0/0 FEC Errors (Downstream/Upstream): 0/0 CRC Errors (Downstream/Upstream): 0/0 All insight is greatly appreciated; thank you!

So during the day, the SNR drops to about 9ish and I notice little hang ups when doing DNS requests, as in when you click something, the Mac will send the request, it’ll hang for 2-5sec then all of a sudden the new page will load. I’ve had CenturyLink DSL that set at a 6-7 SNR at all times with no problems I’ve got a Pace 5268ac on 10.7 firmware, I’ve had this modem before and it seemed to be the “best” one that AT&T has given out at the time performance wise Looking at these stats, any thoughts on what would be causing the hang?
