Hi all, A friend of mine just had Gigapower installed at his residence in San Jose. During the installation appointment, the techs mentioned that AT&T's goal is to roll out Gigapower within the entire Bay Area by the end of 2017. Wondering how true that is? I live in a subdivision that was built in 2002 and right across from me is a brand new subdivision which is gigapower wired and yet mine is not :( Hoping they'd fix that soon as I would like some sweet gigabit juice as opposed to being stuck with Comcast :\ Thanks!

I won’t get into details, but ended up cancelling AT&T Fiber a few months back. I sent my gateway back, but didn’t touch the ONT (except to unplug it). Except for unplugging the gateway and sending it back, nothing has been touched, including the fiber coming into my house. I just “re-ordered” it today and it gave me the option of a self install, which I took. Will I have issues just plugging everything back in and firing up the gateway? I think they have me setup to be activated in about 1 week.

We run an office of about 50 employees, and use a Peplink Balance router to maintain two WAN connections - one with Cox cable, another with AT&T uverse fiber. We were using the fiber for VOIP only until recently - when we upgraded to 500/100 speed and started using it as our primary line. Discovered the wonderful NAT connection limits (thanks to dropped packets/connections). I've tried everything I can to setup bridge mode - but there is no true bridge mode apparently? I've found workarounds for this issue - but they're well beyond my network expertise to implement/maintain. Is there anything else we can do to either setup full bridge mode - or help keep our connections down? The Peplink router lets you set ratios for how much to use each connection - so my workaround for now has been to just put only 60% of the traffic on the fiber line. That seems to keep the number of connections below the danger zone. If we can't get this fixed - what's the easiest way to "scope out" what internet services are able to serve our multi-story business complex? Thanks in advance.

I'm not having any service issues but did notice a change to my line stats over the last year. Image 1 are my stats from a year ago and image 2 are current stats. Why would my noise margins change so much over time. The stats were from different gateways, 5268 then and 210 now.

The BGW is in the garage and the AirTies is in the kitchen connected to eth2 on the BGW. The AirTies configured itself and coverage is excellent. Session hand-over works when I use realtime apps like Skype etc. and walk from the coverage area of the garage to the AirTies. My problem is with devices that come out of sleep. Tablets, phones... They are connected to an AP but no data is able to get through. Looking at my phone's wifi stats I can see it has a 169. IPv4 address and not a 192. Toggling off/on wifi fixes that and assigns a new IP and data works. Just trying a release/renew does not work. Just now I disabled IPv6 on the BGW210 and I will test if that helps. Has anyone had this issue? My next step is to disable the 2.4Band.

So I had to unplug the ATT gateway from my UPS so I could do some cleaning behind the network rack. When I plugged it back in, it came back up but would not allow any of my static IP traffic through. I did a factory reset and reconfigured my static IPs, and everything is working fine now. I had been considering DirecTV based solely on its picture quality reputation but that was before reading about the almost unanimous dissatisfaction from current users regarding their recent UI format change. At this point, regardless of promos and gift cards, I'd rather go with TV provider which at least for now doesn't have as many are customers complaining about it. What I'm curious about is how current their top tier DVR and mini boxes are. When was their most recent equipment refresh? Not that I suspect AT&T is overly candid about disclosing such information but I'd like to avoid signing up for a service only to discover after a short while that they'd just introduced an upgraded DVR model. And should that scenario come to pass, is there an optional coverage AT&T offers for subscribers to upgrade mid-contract? I'm presuming that U-verse TV relies on internet data for signal. I also plan to bundle it with AT&T VDSL service. Do they have a data cap instituted, and if so, what accommodations for TV downloading do they make, or does it all get read on the meter? Basically, for those here who are also on a similar double bundle, what's been your experience either in remaining under or going over the cap? I could (and will) do an online plan package price and channel lineup comparison.

Taking a walk through Piedmont, CA (close to Oakland). I thought this area is copper only but noticed something interesting. XBOX/PFP is labeled on this box. Could the copper and fiber be combined here or are they just using the names interchangeably? Sorry for the crooked pic.

During a recent tech visit, I was told that AT&T was working on being able to move the authentication to the ONT which would allow us to use whatever hardware we want. The tech said that it would require the current ONT to be replaced when it was available. He couldn't give me a time frame but I'd guess it'll be at AT&T glacier pace and hard to get installed for existing customers, once it is available. Has anyone heard this before or know anything further?

I recently called AT&T because my contract is up and Comcast is offering me a better deal of 60Mbps for $40/mo. The rep offered me 50M down and 10M up for the same price. I see that my plan had switched from 45M to 50M but there is no where on AT&T's site mention anything about upload speed. My speed test shows that I am getting a little less than 5Mbps upload. My modem is showing: Bonded Downstream Rate 49413 Bonded Upstream Rate 5152 I am feeling that the AT&T rep lied to me. Does anyone know what is the upload speed of Internet 50?

Been seeing a lot of ATT trucks in and around my neighborhood. How can I tell if they are running ATT Fiber? Been with Charter for years but would look to jump ship if they have 1GB plan.

Help! I am hoping one of the AT&T techs that frequent our forum can help me with this issue. I've got a few devices that cannot connect using the 5ghz spectrum and must connect with 2.4ghz (either B, G or N). I know N is the newest of those 3 and fastest. Here is the issue -- today, one of the old Macs we have that can only use 2.4 would not stay connected. I would turn off WiFi, then back on. It would connect for a few seconds, then disconnect. Thinking trouble was w/the Mac's card, I rebooted and same issue. Decided to dig further and realized my HP wireless printer was showing up as connected/not-connected to my work laptop (scan was/was not available and light on HP was blinking off/on). Realized it had to be something with the 599. Unplugged for at least 5 minutes. Plugged in and checked, same thing happening. So then I tested both 2.4 and 5 on my laptop -- it would connect at 2.4 but instead of showing speed of over 100 mbps as connection speed, it shows anywhere from 5 to 11 mbps. Clearly something is not right. Mind you, the 599 is about 5 inches from my laptop on my desk so it is not a problem w/distance nor even channels, because I tried automatic, had it previously on 11, then used my WiFi Analyzer app on my phone to check surrounding signals and 11 should have been fine since no one else was using it. I have tried pretty much all combos of B only, G only, G/N or N only and it appears that the 2.4 spectrum is shot. Just noticed my 5268AC was updated overnight to 10.7.0.530220-att. Haven't had a chance to look it over for any obvious changes though.

The BGW is in the garage and the AirTies is in the kitchen connected to eth2 on the BGW. The AirTies configured itself and coverage is excellent. Session hand-over works when I use realtime apps like Skype etc. and walk from the coverage area of the garage to the AirTies. My problem is with devices that come out of sleep. Tablets, phones... They are connected to an AP but no data is able to get through. Looking at my phone's wifi stats I can see it has a 169. IPv4 address and not a 192. Toggling off/on wifi fixes that and assigns a new IP and data works. Just trying a release/renew does not work. Just now I disabled IPv6 on the BGW210 and I will test if that helps. Has anyone had this issue? My next step is to disable the 2.4Band.

Has AT&T killed off the AirGig project already ?

What is the reason that they state these device limits in their offers? Is that based on limiting the technicians effort in setting things up or does the gateway have a physical restriction on the number of IP addresses it will allow? Also will it be a problem to continue using my existing router and just bridge to the AT&T hardware?

Looks like my NVG589 was upgraded to 9.2.2h3d14 last night. Does anyone have any release notes for this update?
