Hi,
Sorry if this is a FAQ. I live in Austin, TX, and my choices are limited to Time Warner and U-verse. I have 30/5 DOCSIS 3.0 cable internet from TWC right now, which is great, but their DVR is horrible, and the service is overly expensive, so I was interested in U-verse. AT&T has been in our neighborhood over the last year sprucing up their service. They recently went door to door in our subdivision touting they offer 24 mbps right now, with "50 to come this year and gigabit next year" per the door to door guy. Ha, we'll see.
Anyway, putting my current AT&T landline (I still have one!) into the u-verse system, it says the max internet I can get is only 18, not 24.
Does anyone know if there is a way to pre-qualify a line to see if it would actually support the higher speed? The people on the toll-free U-verse line are hopeless.
I would love to switch away from TWC (but really due to their DVR service and overpriced TV - I am quite happy with their internet product) but it's hardly worth it to get internet that is half the speed.
Thanks
Jason
