Is it time to cut and run?

I have been an ATT DSL subscriber for about 4 years now. I just switched over to U-Verse with service starting on the 18th of this month. By the afternoon of the 20th I had already called their tech support 3 teams due to outages and router error reports. They did send a technician to fix the issue, and he surmised that there was interference from where my phone line was split between two jacks. This interference led to a lower speed than my service profile, and caused my router to cut into my browsing/streaming with incessant error reports. We were unable to find the line split to fix the issue, so he dropped my service profile so that the modem wouldn't keep throwing errors. But it didn't work. I keep getting the errors, which interrupts my service. I'm too reliant on my internet access for grad school and work-at-home projects to put up with these service interruptions, but I'm not sure that I will be able to resume my previous DSL service since ATT has been phasing it out. Is it time for me to cut and move on to another ISP, or are there options that I'm unaware of?
