Why DVR auto-deleting old recordings?

To Whom it may Concern: The last week+ I have had a problem w/ my Uverse DVR, in which it is deleting my old recordings, at the rate of anywhere from a couple months' worth to a few days.' I have done meticulous monitoring of my available space regularly (as in almost every day), as I watch ALL my shows off the DVR. I have NEVER gotten to below 5% available space (or so it SAYS). In addition to deleting these recordings, for some reason it's not even reflkecting the space SAVED by the deletions. So something isn't adding up! Furthermore, I have sesisons w/ 2 Uverse tech support reps, and both said it was a function of my 1 box, which I had disconnected because of a water leak in that room. They said the water damaged the box, and since the recordings are stored on the box's "hard drive" (which CANNOT be true, can it?), I would have to lose the programs. The only problem is, except for the very beginning of my service (about May, 2012) I have recorded every program "from" the OTHER 2 boxes! They are shipping me a new box, but what does that have to do w/ recordings that *I* assume have been recorded at the ACCOUNT level, and not "in the box"? Hypotheses: 1) I have recently been recording many Twilight Zone episodes, so perhaps the sheer number of these (approx. 90) has created a "max" condition -- even though that's only a total of 45 hours. 2) Perhaps the "x% left" stat has been LYING to me, in that either a) in reality I had LESS space than that, or b) perhaps the DVR starts deleting BEFORE it reaches 0%. Can somebody offer an explanation, or better yet, solution? My DVR is STILL deleting shows, even though it has 13% space now -- and it shows no signs of stopping!!
