I am staying with my mom and she has the AT&T Uverse u400 with 18Mbps internet. It is the only provider in a large apartment complex and of course it is horribly congested. We had them upgrade to the NVG589 modem and I have a Netgear r7000 nighthawk with dd-wrt but of course I can't use the router as a router because my mom has the phone service. Does anyone know the best way to tweak the NVG589's internal settings to help us out. She can't upgrade because she is moving in February and they want another 1 year commitment. I have messed with the wifi settings and am including a picture below of my current settings. The internet gets so bad during peak hours the Uverse TV recordings stutter and the speeds get lower than 1Mbps.
