For years, we could never get any kind of high speed internet. Since 2004, I was constantly calling AT&T to see if I could get DSL and would always get the "We're constantly expanding in your area" answer and nothing ever happened. I eventually gave up and jumped from cellular to cellular till I found a WISP that has been serving me well. Recently they started building this MASSIVE distribution warehouse that's near completion. I've been seeing AT&T and contractors running fiber to the new warehouse and didn't think of it much till I noticed some new cabinets near our AT&T junction box. They brought these things up real quick. They've been working nights to get these cabinets up. One seems like a power junction box waiting for electrical connection along with a decent sized box that looks like it would hold some some equipment inside.
A coworker's dad actually installs and terminates fiber for AT&T so I gave him my information to see if his dad might be able to find something on their side about this new equipment. But till then, i'm full with curiosity. According to google maps, im about .9 miles away from the new equipment and my old junction box. If this new equipment was capable of uverse, what would be the highest speed I could obtain? I looked around for uverse distance limitations, but couldn't find much.
