I have Uverse IP-DSL / ADSL2+ service which is blocked at 17995 Kbps. By blocked, I mean that 17995 is a programmed absolute limit that ATT has set at the DSLAM. Does anybody know why?
I have Max Plus 18 Mbps service. I have a Perfect line. I am 3000ft from the CO. My Max user rate is 24700 Kbps. That means I am good for 20.58 Mbps throughput: 20580 x 1.2 = 24696. In other words, 20580 Kbps with 120% overhead is 24696 Kbps Max rate; I am running 24700 Kbps.
Max Plus 18 is overprovisioned to 22 Mbps on VDSL. Yet, ADSL2+ / IPDSL only gets EXACTLY 17995 Kbps.
Is there a rational reason for this?
