AT&T Uverse VoIP on Softphone?

Has anyone with AT&T U-verse DSL voice service successfully connected their voice service to a softphone client (e.g. X-Lite)? I have dumped the configuration of my NGV510 router and can see (what I assume to be) all of the VoIP configuration settings for the phone line. However, the best result I can get while attempting to register the line in X-Lite is a SIP 403 error "roaming not allowed" (observed using Wireshark). I assume there is some sort of control on the carrier side which is causing this error but am not able to nail down the specific control. I am attempting to register from behind the same public IP address and disabled "Use rport" to hide my internal IP address from the SIP messaging but still no luck. I figured I would throw the question out to this group to see if anyone has any additional input. Thanks for any feedback or advice!
