I am considering upgrading my uverse internet speed to either the Power 45 tier or High Speed 75. The latter is supposedly available in Oakland, but doesn't show in my upgrade options in my account, and I can't see to find it if is coming and if I should wait a sec for it, given I'd have to pay installation fees. Anyone know?
Also, I currently use the 3801 RG just for the broadband link; IIRC it's in DMZ mode, no firewall, no wifi, just passing everything to another router that does the routing, wifi, etc. I'd like to keep that going. I understand the Power 45 equipment includes the NVG589, and from what I've read I can configure it in sorta the same way as the 3801 so I can use my own router with it as well; but I have static IP addresses; can I assume that won't be a problem?
Do I have to run Cat5 cable from my RG area to the outside (I believe that's what Power 45 uses), or is that part of the $99 fee ATT charges?
TIA,
Rob
