Question: Is there anything besides the modem that will periodically, or about once or twice an hour, disrupt my Internet connection?
My Internet connection will drop off, or I will lose the connection, for a few seconds and then it will reconnect.
I moved into this apartment last July. I got a new modem then. It was losing the connection then. But now it seems to be getting worse.
About two months ago I called AT&T. I was having trouble logging in to a GoDaddy online storage account. GoDaddy's tech support told me it was the Internet connection (I later discovered the connection problem was on GoDaddy's end).
Anyway, the AT&T tech rep installed a new modem. The new modem is doing the same thing.
I used to have Comcast cable. My Comcast connection was doing the same thing. The Comcast rep said I had a weak connection. The apartment owners had installed siding on the building. Someone had drove a nail through the line. Comcast replaced the line. That took care of the problem.
