OK, so I was living right in town and was pretty close to the VRAD. Single pair and was getting 57-59 total Mbit according to UV Realtime. 4HD Stream profile, 18Mbit internet. We could be using all 4 streams and still get the 18Mbit.
Now we've moved considerably out of town, 4500 feet from VRAD, bonded pair required, new NVG589 required. My first question, how do I get UV Realtime to work on NVG589? From what I read it looks like it's supported, but it doesn't work for me. I've tried connecting directly to it, unchecking automatic and manually entering router IP, etc, and it never connects.
Second, I understand that I'm really far from the VRAD, but the quality just sucks. Even when just using 1 HD stream, we constantly get 1 or 2 second skips while watching TV, recorded or not. Additionally, if we're using even 1 HD stream, my max internet is 12Mbit instead of 18. The only way I can get 18 is to shut off all HD streams. Is this all to be expected due to my distance? Just seems like a waste to pay for 18Mbit internet if I can't even get it.
