So after receiving a postcard from att about the transfer to frontier, i found one disturbing FAQ.
If i want to cancel my service, under contract (for a discount), i WILL have to pay a termination fee.

I am subject to a fee for early termination of my account with AT&T if I cancel my service prior to the contract date. Am I subject to this fee if I cancel my account with Frontier?
Yes. An early termination fee(s) remains in effect for the duration of the stated period. Frontier calculates early termination fees as a fixed amount rather than as a prorated percentage. You will be notified of this change.
From everything i have been reading, frontier appears to be worse than comcast. But the point is i signed a contract with ATT, not frontier, so i feel its terrible that i would still be charged an early termination fee for not wanting to do business with frontier.
Do i really have a leg to stand on?
