Comcast reports losing 144,000 tv subscribers.
Verizon added 100,000 tv subscribers.
AT&T Uverse added just under 190,000 IPTV subscribers ...bringing total to 5.9million
TWC will be posting results in a week but has been the big loser of subscribers the last two years.
Even with the loses TWC tv subscriber base is almost equal to Fios/Uverse combined.
With Uverse has been chasing Fios since both started in 2006, since recently surpassing Fios it is hard to see Uverse trailing in the future.
It is all a numbers game ....
With Fios at about 5.5 to 5.6 million subscribers, this represents over 30% of the total 18M base in 16 states while Uverse 5.9 million is less than 18% of current 33 million possible subscribers in 22 states, Uverse simply has more room to grow. And most people would find it hard to have 40% of the marketplace which is what Fios would need to stay with Uverse continued growth.
Eventually Fios will expand its fiber offerings to areas not yet covered and Uverse will grow its fiber projects as has been announced but would not expect any major changes in next few years (2018)... 2020 will likely see more fiber by all.
Just my thoughts
