Guys...
The thread about the ebay modems made me think about the iNID that they left on the side of my house when they changed me out to a 589 last year.
Last month and a half or so I have had issues with FECs running like water and CRCs on line 1. 3 techs no resolution... IR says line is clean.
So I pulled the iNID out of my junk box.. put back some voltage regs I scarfed off...and powered it up on like 40' of cat5 cable hastily assembled with some RJ11s.
So... here are 4 images...

First is the 589 after about 10 minutes.
The rest are the bitloading, etc from UV Realtime on the iNID.
And not to be left out... the "rigged" iNid on my bench:

:D
iNID running without the mass of FECs and CRCs on line 1 on a really REALLY crappily made piece of 40' cable plugged into the same jack as the 589 inside of the house.
I am now inclined to believe that the lines ARE clean... and I have an inside wiring issue of some kind of a bad 589.
Bad 589... or something more sinister?
Thoughts?
