I live in Nashville, TN. I've been trying to get U-Verse. We switched from Earthlink DSL. It took 3 different CSRs to even get the account set up.
Based on our location we were eligible for 6 Mbps/1 Mbps.
The first time I was on the phone for 30 minutes before the CSR realized I had to cancel my Earthlink service first. Still I was optimistic that when the time for install came, it would be a lot smoother. I was wrong.
Our appointment was today and was given a 2 hour window. Tech called halfway through the window to let me know that the line "was not connected" at the CO. He had requested it and that it would happen in the next hour.
Long story short. We went the whole day and nothing happened. Apparently there was no one at the CO. All day. Called customer service and called the tech. Neither could do anything. CSR was disconnected and didn't call back even after he took my phone number.
This is before we even have service. How do I know this will improve once we're customers and "they have us." Anyone know who I can contact at AT&T for help? The general apathy is maddening.
Also now considering alternatives besides U-Verse and Comcast.
