I can punch in my address on their website/ no U-Verse for me it says. I Call them direct and they say NOTHING from UVerse is available at my address.
The funny thing is that the "box" that my next door neighbor and the neighbor behind me are connected to is in my yard, they both have the full AT&T plate with 45meg internet. My house is even the shortest distance to main box.
They said an engineer would have to review it, if approved, it would cost a $200 install fee for internet only. "Maybe" could get a $100 discount.
So I have to pay at least a $100 to have the privilege to pay ever month, that's some bullsh*t. Even Comcast would wave that, well maybe, after talking through a pyramid of morons, till you get to a top moron.
I want to get rid of comcast (worst company on earth) but AT&T seems to almost as bad. Took me for ever to find out what just Internet would cost, no promos just the darn price afterwards.
Guy finally says $79 for 45meg. I say that's the entire price, nothing else added? Yes the man says.
So I can use my own modem then? NO the man says. So that's included in the price you just quoted me? NO. That's another 7.99. (Beats head against desk)
So anymore charges you are not telling me about? No the man says. Are you sure? I asked at least 3 more times, still not confident something else isn't hidden. (Beats head against the desk) Comcast would have changed there mind again and probably invent a new charge on the spot just to f*ck with you.
I think AT&T's fastest internet to my house is $88 per month, but who knows for sure.
All this is after talking to Comcast about dropping everything but my Internet, talking to the moron on the line for 20 minutes, never got a straight answer what my internet would be for the 50meg I have now. This after already being disconnected once and having to explain again what I wanted. (Beats head against desk)
I'm taking back my 2 comcast dvr's and cancelling everything but my internet. Then I'll see what it costs when the bill comes, the only way to really find out with comcast. Not kiddin'.
Then maybe I can see which would be the cheaper fast internet.
