U-Verse Power Tier (45/6) MDU Install Completed

Just thought I'd drop in to mention that I had an MDU(apartment) install for the U-verse Power Tier yesterday (4/18). The existing service was the Max Turbo Tier (24/3) on a single pair. The tech came by around 9:30am and was finished around 10:45am. The tech noticed that cat5e cable was brought from a wall jack inside the apartment to the NID/demarcation on the building and went to work to identify a good pair for a pair bonded install. Once the pair was identified he went to the VRAD to terminate the identified pair and made some configuration changes. Once he was done at the VRAD he wired the identified pair to the NID and also wired the spare pair from the cat5e cable to the NID. The RJ14 wall jack was then rewired to terminate the opposite spare pair in the cat5e cable to the wall jack. A new NVG589 was hooked up and he ran a few speed tests. At the install I was getting ~46/4.2 Mbps. After the tech left I noticed the upload speed was consistently low so I called up At&t and spoke to a half dozen CSRs, techs, and managers over the course of an afternoon. A technician visit was scheduled for this morning (4/19) to resolve the upload issue. The tech arrived and checked the signals at the jack and noticed there was an issue with the second pair. He installed a new NID on the outside of the building as the ancient NID attached to the building was in poor condition. He then terminated the wires to the new NID and scheduled a lineman visit to install a new cable from the NID to the field as the existing cable was deteriorated. The lineman arrived around 1pm and took about half an hour to run the new cable to another demarcation point on the building. After the lineman installed the new cable the upload speed was more reasonable around 5.25 Mbps. The techs I spoke with were surprised that they were told to do an MDU install. I told them I was waiting a while for it to become available, but as soon as I noticed it was available on 4/15 I placed the order. It also appears I am the first power tier install in the area (Sunnyvale, CA) as well, as the techs indicated that older equipment at the VRAD was recently replaced.
