Hello,
I just recently upgraded from Max Plus to Power and I am having some problems. I am getting consistent download speeds of about 36mbps and upload speeds of about 4mbps (with or without the TV on). I am on a hardwired connection. I have tried multiple speedtest services on different computers, all with close to the same results. The best I have been able to obtain is 39mbps down and 4 up. All in all, not too bad, but could be better.
The problem isn't directly the speed, it's the latency. I'm getting serious wait times trying to load pages. Some take a few seconds to load, most take much longer, if they load at all. It is the same on all of my computers and all browsers. I have tried hardwired and wireless connections, both with the same results. I have also tried the usual reboots.
This problem started Wednesday (the day after they installed the new NVG589 and the pair bond). I had accumulated about three million FEC errors and 23k CRC errors after around 20 hours, all on the second line. I eventually got AT&T to send out a tech. The tech came out on Thursday and installed a new wire from the pole to my house; it apparently had a little damage. He also ran new wire from the NID to the RG, but only for my phone service. The problem seemed fixed, but now it is back.
When I contacted AT&T on Wednesday, -- for the second time -- they rebooted my router and I somehow wound back up on the old 18mbps plan, from which I was upgrading. This temporarily solved the problem.
Other than the problem directly being the second line, I have no idea what it is. Any help you can provide is much appreciated!
Thanks.
