Hello there. I live in Uncasville, CT and have been forced into using Metrocast Cable TV as Satellite dishes get very poor reception on my street due to the orientation and the very high number of trees. (I've seen the reception that neighbors get when it's cloudy or if rain is coming down, and basically, the TV stops). This year, Metrocast decided to stop carrying the MLB Network and replaced it with a higher-tier, more money channel. I am already paying $238 a month for a limited number of channels for two TVs, and internet service. Metrocast's internet is just fine (50 Mbps) and my work pays for the connection so it's not a problem. It's the TV service that is VASTLY overpriced and atrocious.
Looking at the AT&T U-Verse service, their U-450 service for two TVs is cheaper than the limited package I have with Metrocast. My only concern is how far away I am from the closest node. Is there a way I can find out where AT&T has nodes setup? I have heard that there is a node recently built on an adjacent road, and if that's the case I know that it would be within walking distance and therefore my TV service would be immaculate. I just want to verify this before I decide to dump Metrocast and move to U-Verse. I'm undergoing surgery on Tuesday and will be "out of it" for about a week or two, so I won't be making the move right away. I just want to gather as much information as I can before moving forward on this.
