For a long time (either 2007 or 2008) we've had "uverse" internet at 12/1, and I'm getting a little sick of it. I live 14 miles away from Grand Rapids, MI.
Is it worth it to go down to an at&t store and ask them for an update on a supposed new line they put in to have a faster speed? Is there some sort of public update page?
Sorry for the vague questions, I'm just trying to gather as much information as I can.
PS: I see in some other threads people are installing some software called "UV Realtime". This software does not work on my computer. For one thing something called "rrdtool" doesn't install at all because of the error "a newer version of visual basic C++ 2010 runtime is installed on this computer" and instead of just saying ok the only option is to not install it. But another thing is I doubt it would work anyway because I don't have the gateway/router/modem listed on the page, I have a Motorola NVG510.
Also, ask as many questions as you want to me, Ill try to answer them as best as I can.
TL;DR: I want faster internet, what do?
