Has anyone heard anything regarding the expansion of ATT-TV beyond the test markets? I figure it has to be soon, since I know they were targeting 4th quarter 2019, or has it slipped?

U-verse TV versus AT&T TV
Is one service better than the other? I have U-verse TV and would like to see if it's worthwhile to switch to AT&T TV now that is available in my neighborhood. Does anybody have AT&T TV?

[AT&T Fiber] AT&T fiber slack junction box?
I just noticed AT&T didn't install a junction box with fiber slack outside my house when they installed my fiber. They just went straight from the power pole through the wall (and then to the ONT in another part of the house). In every AT&T Fiber installation video I watched, I saw the tech install this before the fiber was terminated at the ONT inside the house. Do I need to call AT&T back out to finish the job?

[AT&T Fiber] Speed cap when working around RG?
So I got https://github.com/aus/pfatt working the other day and have been happy as a clam with pfsense doing my network firewall/routing since then. Got everything set up just about a week ago. Still have my BGW210 in place as required. IPv6, full line speeds, the works. It's great!
I noticed this morning that my speeds appear to be capped at 100mbps. Called ATT, they blame the RG hardware, and want to send me a 5268ac instead, as this will "surely take care of the problem". Is this a thing they do when something goes amiss with their desired setup of RG in front of everything? I'd really rather not go back to the way it was before... it's not a huge deal to swap out the equipment and change a couple settings in my configuration to have it working again, but definitely don't want to be playing wack-a-mole in perpetuity if they're not gonna let this work.

BGW210-700 Configuration
Hi, Replaced an old Pace5031. The 210 is running 2.4.4 and I have basic VDSL 18 service, "without" other router or hardware involved. Are there any recommended, basic config changes to the default firmware (other than IDs, PWs, etc) I should make, particularly from a security point of view?
Been running flawless for a whole 2 hours !
Thx much in advance. Always appreciate the expert advice here..

AT&T Fiber IPv6 DHCPv6-PD prefix size
Has anyone successfully gotten larger than a /60? When I request a /56 or a /48 from my edgerouter I get nothing.
Do I have to wait a couple weeks for the previous lease to expire?

New software version for Pace 5268AC?
I noticed that my 5268AC rebooted last night and it's showing a software version of 1.2.1.531810-att. Is this a new version?

Which DNS config is being used?
Working at a site where they are trying to go to support.hp.com and get quote: Service Unavailable - DNS failure
The server is temporarily unable to service your request. Please try again later, etc. and it's repeatable and not going away.
IP Passthrough is enable. With an external router. The Gateway has a primary and secondary DNS IP (seems to be AT&T) however I cannot see away to change it. The router has the same parameters but are configurable and point to different DNS IPs.
So which DNS servers are being used the Gateway or the Router? How can you tell? And is it possible to change the gateway DNS?

Keeping DVR Online
It gets frustrating that every time we have a power blip our DVR goes off-line and we must rebooted to get it back online. This results in some of our scheduled recording getting missed if we are not home when this happens don't realize it has happened.
Is there any solution is short of buying a UPS for $50 or more? A UPS is certainly an overkill considering I only need to keep the power on for probably 2-3 seconds at the most.

Wi-Fi Calling Dropping Calls
Anyone else having issues on either fiber or VDSL with Wi-Fi calling dropping calls after 15-30 seconds? Seems to be just another issue with the 5268.

[VDSL] Unlisted IP address in use on BGW-210 communicating with AWS.
Greetings:
A network scan discovered an internal, unlisted, address 192.168.xxx.55 [1] with MAC address c0:a0:0d:5f:2e:22 (c0:a0:0d = Arris) compared to my gateway at .254 with MAC ending in :20. This .55 host responds to pings and port scans from the LAN, and pings from the Gateway diagnostic page. Scans of the specific host showed open ports @ 10999 (IANA unassigned) & 51008 for a while but have since closed. The unlisted address on the gateway is in the NAT table, communicating with 34.216.164.228 on TCP 5222 with a lifetime roughly equivalent to uptime. It is not listed in the Gateway device list. All my internal hosts are accounted for, and none of them are .55.
It seems uid://890631 encountered this in https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32520587-Why-is-my-BGW210-talking-to-AWS. ARIN Whois reports that address is part of Amazon Web Services (AWS) dynamic hosting Elastic Compute environment.
Can anyone else confirm:
(1) a host on their internal network not listed in the RG device list, but having a MAC address belonging to the gateway itself?
(2) the unlisted host in Question 1 is communicating wth external entities?
OmagicQ, do you have Smart Home Manager enabled?
Environment:
BGW-210-700
fw 2.4.4
No Gateway voice services enabled
No Uverse TV
No airties, extenders, etc.
Parental Controls ON
Smart Home Manager ON
[1] Internal network is non-default for a variety of reasons.

Has anyone came up with method to prevent double nat when using a second router behind the gateway?
Removing the gateway is not a option for me.

Vanishing Bonded Pair Approval
I had an AT&T tech out a couple months ago who who claimed he got me approved for a bonded pair but since it was almost 5pm on a Thursday that it could be done that day and that I'd hear from someone the following week. That weekend I got an automated voice mail saying I needed to reschedule a an appointment which I knew nothing about and didn't miss because I was home. When the tech I mentioned was out he said he was surprised my internet was even working in my home because he had trouble getting it to connect when he was on the side of my home at the box. That's what prompted him to see if I could be approved for a bonded pair.
I called them back and the overseas people didn't know what I was talking about other then to say that someone had done work in the box nearest to me. That person and the AT&T Social Media people all denied that I was ever approved for a bonded pair and that there was no record of it. A neighbor had AT&T over late last month and my noise margin went up to over 10 and everything was working great until that power outage that went on awhile back which reset everything which sent my margin numbers back below 9.5 at times even 8.9 until I restart the modem again. I'm so frustrated with them.
I know it's said that FEC Errors are common. Having said that what about 2mil of them in a month? I get about 1400 CRC errors every 2 weeks

Unlikely install
So, my mom is attempting to have uverse/dsl installed at her house (5mbps). But I see a problem that will probably cause issue.. The lines running up the hill to her house from the nearest pedestal are the older type and to top it off, the poles are way to distant apart for the newer lines to be dropped.....
My question is.. What are the odds of them burying a line up the road for her so she could obtain service? In theory, they are supposed to come out tomorrow mid day. Is there a process to maybe have them either bury a line or at least let her qualify for fixed wireless if they can't/won't run the new lines to her house? She attempted the fixed wireless route first but they denied her due to qualifying for uverse internet (again, at 5mbps)
Thoughts?

ATT gig fiber, goes down for an hour everytime i lose power
So i have both my router/gateway as well as ONT on battery backup. However, when i lose power(with recent storms 4x in the last few days) i lose my internet for about 1 hour and 12 minutes. The more it happens the more accurate i'm getting with the measurement.
Any ATT techs on here that can explain, is the fiber equipment not on battery backups or something. It's pretty annoying, and somewhat suspect that it's always down for the same amount of time.

No Santa Tracker this year?
The kids have enjoyed this for the last couple years and we went looking for it over the holidays only to not find the channel. I could only find one reference on AT&T forums that suggested it's not coming back to U-Verse this year, but a lot of topics were locked behind signing in and I didn't bother with that. Can anybody confirm this?

[AT&T Fiber] Slow speeds and high ping from 7pm to 11pm CST for past week
Had service for around a year and half now and have never had speed or ping issues that I have noticed. Starting in the last week or I started noticing ping issues in games and decided to run speed tests and got the following results. When
this issue starts happening I can't watch a single twitch stream without constant buffering. Netflix is just as bad...
Attached is a picture of SpeedTest.net results over the coarse of the day to the same server.
Here is a link to a PingPlotter that shows the ping issues starting at around 7:20pm today. https://ibb.co/yPw3jsX
That is on Fiber 1000 btw. The issue starts at 7-8pm everyday and is always gone by 11pm. Live chat is useless, they just tell you to reset/restart gateway which has zero effect. Looking for some help to get this issue resolved asap.

Script to check ATT Fiber coverage
I got the inspiration from the Century Link forum for mapping availability of ATT Fiber in a particular area.
The idea is to grab a box on google maps using two addresses (NE and SW) then get a list of addresses and pass that on to the ATT Fiber availability webpage. Well I spent a day learning Python and another porting the code to AT&T and here is result
https://www.easymapmaker.com/map/13bc08adc1c47818afd6437933d7ce4d
Please see my github page here for the scripts
https://github.com/enkur/ATT-Fiber-Check
Next task would be to do something like this
https://github.com/mtdoyle/CLSpeedPhantomJS/blob/master/README.md
This can cull through large addresses and create a super detailed plots like this

[AT&T Fiber] Any way to bypass att modem using ASUS GT-AC5300?
Was curious if anyone else was using this specific router with att 1000 plan. If so, the options in the advanced settings have all sorts of options that look like could be use to "simplify" bypassing the modem.
Don't really wanna shell out $135 for an USG. But I will if I have to if I can't get around their modem.
Or if anyone else that uses this router, what were your go to settings? I tried putting the router in AP mode and it significantly improved my wifi speeds and kept them consistent.
