i know yesterday i noticed i was under a 80 line 1 and 80 line 2 and my speed tests where always over 105+mbps i had to unplug my modem yesterday to clean and plug it back up and now i am back on this profile i know my lines can support the 80/80/20 bonded but why did AT&T put me on the 50/50/20 which now my tests does not go above 90mbps could i call them and request them to put me on another provisioning profile which mine lines can support 200+mbps even the installer that installed our service said we could reach that speed with a bonded pair. So why did at&t put me back on the 50/50/20 when that no where tests in 100mbps

Does anyone know if Borger, TX get internet U-verse? I have called SEVERAL people and have gotten different answers.

I keep hearing rumors that U-verse is getting phased out and the users will be pushed toward DirecTV, yet I have yet to hear from AT&T that this will eventually happen.... Then yesterday, someone came by the house (I wasn't home) and told my wife that he was from AT&T (he was wearing a DirecTV shirt) and that we had "old" U-verse boxes and that he could upgrade them for us and get us a bunch more channels and stuff. Scary thing is, she said he had a little computer that had all of our account info on it. I wouldn't think that AT&T would actually send people door to door and explain that our "cable boxes" were "old." I figure that they would somehow contact us directly from corporate. So does anybody actually have the straight poop on what is going on with this rumored "phase-out?" It would be too bad, my U-verse has been working flawlessly for about seven years now and I think the user interface on the boxes is better than anything else I have tried, and I have never used anything other than a wired connection -- I've never had a dish before.

Hello To whom it may concern Below is a summary of my general problem. Since June 27, 2017 I have been having problems with my internet. All of a sudden. I have a Pace 5286AC Modem and the Broadband Light 2 started Blinking Red and I waited to see if it would revert back to green but, at this point my Internet went down. I was able to get on the internet again by going into the modem settings and changing the broadband Configuration Settings Line Selection from Dual Line To Line 1. But at half the speed I was used to, I had the 50mbps plan/10 upload plan when using two lines so I was pair bonded. I immediately went to speedtest.net and I also did the ATT Speedtest and noticed when I ran the speedtest I was and am still getting 35.56mbps Download/5.89mbps Upload before I was getting 50-55mbps Download/12-14mbps. I Uploaded today by running Uverse Realtime and I noticed that before my est. distance from vrad was 1,295ft but now it has changed to 300ft and when I log into my att it also says the following message Important notice: Your Internet plan is no longer offered. If you change to a new plan, you won't be able to switch back to your current plan and it only offers me the 25mbps plan. Is there any way to get my previous speed back or any higher speed if it is possible? I have looked at the houses around me and its only my block that went down to 25mbps and one house says 18mbps. The block behind mine all the houses say 50mbps the block next to me all the houses say 50mbps as well. It is only my block that the houses say 25mbps. If anybody could be of some assistance and resolve my issues I would be most appreciative. Thanks In Advance For Replying

And some oldsters use medical monitoring devices or emergency-call buttons ("I've fallen and I can't get up") that dial out on the voice phone line. Some of 'em also have medium-tech, non-digital burglar alarms in their houses that do automated analog dial-outs. And a very important point is that POTS in the vast majority of cases didn't cost those poor old geezers an arm and a leg per month; usually $25 or so would do it. Mobile cellular or fixed wireless or U-verse VoIP or some vaguely promised fiber "solution" eventually. Is that gonna fill the bucket? I dunno about your parents & grandparents, but mine would have sooner played shoot-'em-up multiplayer video games on the Innertubes than figure out all the intricacies of using a cellular phone. (My folks did actually have a WE 500 phone for the longest time until they replaced it with a 2500, which they thought was wonderfully high-tech. But OK, that was a while ago.) Fixed wireless requires a black box with batteries, and so does U-verse VoIP, and the batteries are only good for some number of hours, and with U-verse VoIP, AT&T stupidly adds insult to injury by refusing to provide a battery to begin with! (I mean, WTF?!? Come on, get a small clue, you random suitdroids at AT&T corporate.) A lot of gizmos that do automated dial-outs are not compatible with VoIP, although I understand that depends partly on what codecs the telco uses. (Interesting information about fax, that was, thanks to quetwo the other day.) All of this and more is why you occasionally read in news articles about geezers' organizations like AARP getting involved in lobbying Congress to try to stop or delay the phase-out of analog POTS. Unfortunately, it's futile lobbying, as all such populist and/or anti-corporate attempts are now. I just thought I'd mention it FWIW. It doesn't affect me personally, but I can certainly sympathize and empathize and stuff.

Hi all, A friend of mine just had Gigapower installed at his residence in San Jose. During the installation appointment, the techs mentioned that AT&T's goal is to roll out Gigapower within the entire Bay Area by the end of 2017. Wondering how true that is? I live in a subdivision that was built in 2002 and right across from me is a brand new subdivision which is gigapower wired and yet mine is not :( Hoping they'd fix that soon as I would like some sweet gigabit juice as opposed to being stuck with Comcast :\ Thanks!

I have a 33kbs audio stream outbound on port 9017. This has working just fine for quite a while. Then last night around 10PM it just dies. I switched it to port 9016 and it works just fine again. So did they just block the port? I guess that was on net neutrality day too.. :)

Hi, AT&T is currently running FTTH in our area and has come to our HOA with a bulk deal. They're offering symmetric 100 Mbps for $25/month and internet+U200 TV (if bundled with internet) for $55/month with 8 year contract. Is that a good deal for bulk deals? And whats everyone's opinion on this? Should the HOA do a bulk deal or are we better off letting the providers compete with each other (we have 3 providers in our community, and all 3 should be FTTH within a year, one already is)

My neighbor's address shows he can get 1Gb service (he has uverse now). My address shows I can only get 25Mb. We are both fed from the same fiber ped in my back yard. I've tried 4 times now to get this fixed by attcares, but the answer they tell me they are getting after 3-5 days of checking is that I can't get more than 25. Is there any technical reason for this or am I just dealing with incompetent people? I'm trying to understand if I should file an FCC complaint or if there is a real technical reason why it can't happen.

I wanted to post and tell my story and see if someone has any ideas about how one can get their missed up order installed. I have ATT service with Direct TV and ATT wireless. On June 30th I called and ordered Home phone and Internet. I was given a install date of today July 14th and told I would receive a conformation email within 24 hours. The next day having not received anything I called back. The rep looked at my account and was upset when she saw what had been done. My order was placed completely wrong and they had opened a entirely new account for me and had ordered me a second DirecTV service along with the phone and internet! She also noted that even then the order had not been placed correctly and would have never completed. She took over an hour with me on the phone and backed all of that out. She then placed the order as it should have been done. She was apologetic and said she was sorry that they were wasting my time. Great service. One week later I received a DirecTv bill in the mail and knew the issues were back. I called in again and talked with an agent who I now know was totally not prepared to do her job. She told me things that I know now are just not true and even though I was locked out of all of my online DirecTV services she could not fix it and said that no one could, I would have to wait for up to 3 billing cycles for it to be resolved. Today was the appointment day and I bet you already know what is coming. 21 minutes before the end of my install window I received a text saying that they might not make it by the end of the window. Did I want to keep the appointment and wait? Well I have already invested ALL day here so sure. I was aggravated, so I called in to see what they could tell me and see if they could fix the mess they had made my DirecTv account. This rep was great! She did fix all of the problems with my online services and called dispatch for me, they said don't give up on us we'll be there in 1 to 2 hours. This was 4 o'clock. At 8:30 no one had showed or called. No text. So I called back. This time I was told we were too busy today and they could not come, we can reschedule for July 24th! I said you miss your appointment and then I have to wait 10 more days- a total of 25 days since the order is placed? YES. As I was expressing my unhappiness about that, I heard a busy signal on the line and the agent was gone. He had said he would call me back if we were disconnected, so I waited. After a few minutes it was clear that no one was going to call back, so I called in again. This time I was told that date was no longer available (He had not reserved it) and the next date was for July 26h now. So after wasting hours of my time and all of my day today- we still have to wait 12 more days for the install? YEAH. I asked for the supervisor. Nice man who could not ever get my name right. He said there is no way to get the date before that but it would be "Priority" and so it would happen. We talked about why all appointments are not Priority and he said he'd give me a $25 bill credit. Does anyone know of some way to just get my services installed. It just should not be this hard. My house is already connected. Do the CO work. Make the cross connect. Bring out the RG and plug it in. Use the activation system and get it on. DONE. WHY does this need to take 27 days.

I upgraded to 45/6 Mbps year ago. I was consistently getting 50/5.6 Mbps. 10 days ago, I upgraded to 100/20, mainly because it was cheaper (I was paying $77 + $7 for modem and was offered 75Mbps for $10 more as a existing customer), However, when I plugged my address as a new customer, I got offer for $50 for 50 Mbps and $60 for 100/20 Mbps including modem (price would go $10 after 12 or 24 months). So I switched to 100/20. My speeds dropped from 50/5.6 to 30/4.6 Mbps. After few chats, they sent tech who did not fix anything nor he left any explanation (my dad was at home). Tech must have been in a hurry since he left lose connection on one of the post terminals. After another chat, AT&T rep sent me new modem, Arris NVG599 but this did not solve the problem. So I started another chat and rep promised to sent their most experienced tech next afternoon (rep gave me the window 4-8 pm PST). I left my work early to meet him but nobody showed up. Needless to say I feel very disappointed with AT&T as every time I talk or chat with them they assure me that they will take care of problem right away. Just feel like I am getting run around. Maybe switching to 75 Mbps plan would work better? Sorry for the long lead in but I need to add a little background on my problem. I purchased a Huawei Honor 8 phone last week and it came with free glass breakage coverage if it was registered on their US site. It seems like Huawei has implemented an authentication program that requires them to email you an authentication code for any single change you make on their website. If you wanted to change your email, you'd have to receive a code for initial login, another code for the change request, another code to send the request to the new email and a 4th code once you click on the change request. I tried over and over again for 4 days using 6 different bellsouth.net email address I have on my account. I never received a one of the codes and I must have requested 30 to 40 of them. I called support and after holding for an hour, I got disconnected so I tried chat. Every one of the agents had Spanish names and the first 3 disconnected me after 10 minutes of chatting. The 4th gave me a ticket and said I'd receive an email within 15 minutes, but I never got it. Sooo, I tried their Facebook support people that told me no problem, they would handle it. 2 days later I received a Facebook message that they had emailed me the code, never got it. The way I finally registered the damn phone was by using a Hotmail address. I didn't want to use that address but I can't change it because that would require a code being sent to the Bellsouth email. I did make several changes, among them turning off the authentication feature but the new email change still requires them to send a one time authentication through AT&T. I don't believe it is on my end because all my accounts check the mail through Outlook on the same network and I even tried using my neighbors Charter wifi. Could AT&T be blocking the mail from Huawei's servers and is there any easy way to know for sure? And they are not going to spam, that's the first thing I tried.

First thing I did was put my Netgear x4s router behind the RG (Pace 5268). It was a headache to be honest, when I thought it'd take less than 5 minutes. At first I just put the 5268 into DMZ+ with my router, terrible speeds (getting around 100 down). After an hour and a half of figuring out why it's bottlenecking (checking with different ethernet cables/devices,etc.), what finally allowed me to get 900~ was to put my router into AP mode. Anyways, that's taken care of and it's been working fine all day. Only thing that I miss from Cox was that I was getting about 10ms less on League of Legends. Now I have some questions: 1. Should I disable IPv6? I saw that ATT uses 6rd. I was running real IPv6 on cox. 2. Sometimes youtube buffers, first thing I thought of was changing the DNS. I just have to change the DNS settings on my netgear router correct? 3. Is running AP mode on my router correct? Thank you!

I was talking to an AT&T line tech the other day. He said that as early as 2020 that AT&T was going to stop installing copper pots in some areas for new customers. I'd already heard that originally the idea was to support hard to reach spots and last-mile issues. However the plan now is to migrate everyone possible to voip whenever possible. He mentioned some type of hotspot device that would be used for landline migration. Does anyone have a link to an industry article that discusses this topic in detail?

I had an order set up with AT&T a few months ago and got some useful advice from the folks here. Unfortunately, I'm an idiot, and canceled that order to stay with Cox; since I'm back here you can guess how that worked out for me. 😆 Going to place a new order on Monday. A few questions: 1. Tips on getting my address qualified for 100/20? Database only shows 50/10. It's an MDU. I've been told that MDUs are frequently artificially capped at 50 due to inside wiring concerns. Existing inside wiring is non-twisted four wire (red/green/yellow/black) cable. It has faux dial tone so I presume it's "active." VRAD is less than 30 meters away. Single family dwellings in the neighborhood show eligible for 100/20. If necessary a new wiring run would be child's play; pedestal is near my unit and a single wall penetration is all that would be required. This is the path Cox took. This would actually be ideal because none of the existing jacks are near my computer, which requires a hard wired connection; I'm not allowed to use WiFi for work. 2. Can I request a specific RG? I've read the 5268 is not ideal if you need to use your own router, which I do, preferably with functional IPv6, although from what I've gleaned here I may have to forgo IPv6 for the time being? 3. Do the unadvertised local-only TV packages (shown in my market at $20 or $30 with HD) give you the unlimited data add on? 4. Does ordering Uverse video help with #1, if they have to install new wiring or some such? DirectTV is not an option; no view of the southern sky. :) 5. Are they no longer charging equipment fees? Don't see any on the website....

I didn't know if I should post this in a similar thread or make my own - I don't like hijacking other's threads. So I made my own.. I am pretty sure I need to switch to AT&T soon to get some reliable internet...hopefully..I have Cox now and can't get reliable service no matter how hard I try. Anyway, my loop length is about 2300' and I've got two wires coming into the NID, a 26ga and a 22ga.. The second line was added sometime after 2005, not sure when. The original is the original 40yr old wire that has been here since the house was built, or so I believe. On the website I qualify for the 50/10 tier AND I am in an area actively being converted to FTTH. Crews haven't placed a fiber crossbox next to my DSLAM yet, but my DSLAM is 150' from one they've already placed a fiber crossbox next to and are trenching fiber to at this very moment. So some questions. :) 1. Is there any way to check the line quality prior to ordering service? 2. Is there a way to tell if the newer wire is "replacing" the older one or is it for pair bonding? 3. And is there even the slightest chance I can get AT&T to replace that older wire with a newer 22ga one given the fact that I'm in an area being converted to FTTH? 4. Should I just wait for Fiber and then order service? Will ordering DSL service now affect my chances of getting FTTH? Thanks for the help. :D

All, Gigapower is available in my neighborhood. I currently have adequate, stable cable modem service. I am considering giving AT&T a try, but I can't seem to find comprehensive terms for the 12 month contract online. The below question I can not figure out and hope that some experienced folks here can illuminate. If I request an installation, but am not satisfied with the performance that I get, then cancel (quickly, say on the day of installation or any other time window that is relevant), what costs do I remain obligated for? Is it $180 + installation fee ($99?)? Is there an early escape clause? It does not appear that there are any service level guarantees provided by AT&T.

With all the talk about ATT going dual stack now, I can't help but think they'll leave use folks on adsl2 out of the loop. I've got the built in 6rd tunnel working on my nvg510 and feeding my local network. It normally only hands out a single /64 prefix and route which makes it mostly useless. But since I got root on my 510, I just telnetted in and added the whole /60 prefix route so I have access to all my trillion IP addresses. But it is still tunneled... and try as I might through telnet, I can't get it to grab a native block from the WAN side. I managed to grab some copies of the nvg589 and 599 firmwares and extract them and I see they have dedicated conf pages to manage your ipv6 blocks. So that sounds nice. Question is, can I just buy one off of ebay and plug it in and it will work? Or am I just screwed? I hesitate to call in and ask for a modem as I can already see the rep setting my port to vdsl and when that fails to work, then they'll inform me that adsl isn't offered in my area any more lol
