I recently had Gigapower installed. I live in an apt building. Within the apartment the Gigapower is installed over phone line.
With a wired question, according to speedtest I receive about 600mbps down. With wireless over 5g I receive in the 300s usually.
Also have the Pace gateway. Do they disable the usb drive ? I want to attach a network drive.

Are these speeds satisfactory for Gigapower?

xg.fast might tempt AT&T where g.fast so far has failed?
I remember reading AT&T thinking that they couldn't advertise 1 Gig with g.fast would amount to a marketing problem with pushing g.fast. I've been seeing some trials of xg.fast and I don't think this would have the same problem since it could advertise 1 gig and maybe even be symmetrical. I figure the last 100 meters or less is the biggest cost increase in stretching fiber closer to the home and maybe working with a combo Gigapower/xg.fast deployment would be a good future direction for AT&T to take.
Wonder if 2020 would be realistic for xg.fast deployment? XG-fast thoughts?

6rd Slow
I have yet to exceed 100mbps over AT&Ts 6rd tunnel. Downloading files tends to be 5.6MB/s (50-60mbps). I've tried different MTU settings on my computer, none of which allowed me to get over 100mbps, which leads me to believe their IPv6 transition backend isn't capable of these speeds from a single user.
My setup:
Gigapower 1000/1000 mbps
PFSense router behind Pace-5268AC assigned a public IP from a /29 allocation.
IPv6 6rd tunnel setup in PFSense based off assigned public IP.

U Verse App no longer has Fox Sports Detroit, but TV does
Why is this channel no longer on the app? It has been there for years. The local show is not blackedout.
Called tech support they hung up on me... Case # J38769813

Gigapower Fort Worth. Possible install area.
So through various sources, one being a Gigapower sales account manager, and the other being AT&T's Facebook support people (Neither of which are great sources I know). Have said that the area that I have attached a quick snapshot from Google maps, is going to be getting Fiber "Soon". I was told the fiber itself had been ordered, and when you look on the Gigapower availability map, several addresses in this area are already wired up. Specifically I live in the Villas of Oak Hill complex.
I was wondering if anyone else in the Fort Worth area or this area in particular have heard or seen anything to support this.
Not holding my breath, this is AT&T we are talking about, and I have good service with Charter, but damnit I want more bandwidth and FTTH!

Huge delimma with uverse internet,tv, and direct tv.
Ok so last week I ordered direct tv with uverse internet. The instillation date for direct tv was today and internet tomorrow. DTV guy knocks on my door and says lets take a look out back. We go to the side of the house and look up and across my the road in the very back of my neighbors house are trees but a gap in between where there you can see lots of the sky. So the DTV who didn't have a device to check the signal or anything tells me he has to call a supervisor to get out and check later today.. after he checks and confirms. then the original installer will be back today and install the satellite. Well after waiting and waiting I call DTV and they say a supervisor wont come out until Sunday. IM FURIOUS I said the install guy who btw didnt even work for DTV he was a contractor in a beat up truck told me he would be here today and confirm we can install the satellite. So my problem now is he also told me that if the supervisor didn't agree to the install causes of the tress then tomorrow the uverse guys can just switch the account over I already have with them because I already have the uverse tv and internet equipment, I was just switching to DTV and getting new promo with internet but now Im in a big dilemma because what if I cant get a signal from the satellite. I ussd I satellite app on my phone like they use and I could get a clear line of site on the ground of the satellites. Plus I went to dishpointer.com and it said the trees are 170ft distance and 179ft. I dont know if that means anything but can someone help me will I not be able to get a signal and should just tell the uverse guys tomorrow to hook my tv back up also? i dont want to go back to uverse tv the pq is terrible and I want my NFL SUNDAY TICKET! Please help.

NVG599 installed for IPDSL stand alone / Install Progress / Issues
Gonna attempt UVERSE internet service again. Think last time I had IPDSL. Standalone.
What modem are they currently supplying? Last time they gave us a NVG589???
Eventually cancelled it because there were over a million FEC errors in a day.
Trucks have been installing new fiber on the poles which might look like they upgraded the service.
We're still at the "last mile service" with only 6mbps.
Co worker has a Motorola NVG510 modem, LOTS of issues with it....Appears they never got the issues fixed with this modem?

Current Stats
So a little while ago I saw an AT&T lineman outside our house. I stopped by to say hello and chit chat. Long story short, he was in the area and had heard of complaints of slow speeds and errors. He was attempting to clean up the lines to make things better.
Unfortunately I think he made things worse. I am seeing a lot more errors on my loops then I did before. Can anyone tell me if this is normal?
BTW, no real issues. Speed is great and not having problems browsing. Just curious.
Thanks!

Does AT&T still just drop your speed
Once you find out the line is the problem on their end, do they still just drop your package down to the next level instead of repairing the line?

The Orange Walkers: Fiber is Coming
I had a guy ring my doorbell today - he had an orange shirt with an ATT logo and a clipboard, and said that fiber was coming to my neighborhood and was trying to put together packages for people.
About a month ago, I did notice that the Uverse speed offered at my address went from 18 to 24, so perhaps this is not just a sales pitch...
However, he said "45" speed was what I could get, but when I mentioned "gigapower" he mumbled something that didn't sound very promising.
My question: is this guy from ATT and is there any reason to deal with him directly? Or am I better off just shopping online as I would normally do.
Also, this happened on the same day that TWC mailed me a letter announcing Maxx speeds. Coincidence?

Gigapower installed not getting the download speeds
uVerse guy is still here trying to get one receiver working for TV. The network speed is not what I expected. At times I get 1 meg down 900 up. Other times it's 600 down, 900 up. What should I tell to him to look for?

Using the Ethernet port on the back of Wireless cable box - TV Freezing
Hey guys im using a Wireless cable box hooked up to a switch so I can get what speeds I pay for. The Quality of Service allows full bandwidth to the boxes. WiFi is too slow.
Anyways the problem is that the damn TV freezes then says connection lost when the Ethernet is connected. I know its not really losing connection because I can still access the internet when it says it. I change the channel and its fine.
Anyone else use the Ethernet on the box and have problems?
Should I try to get a new box?
I never had this problem a few months ago with the same box or the wired box.
Thanks for reading!

Should I switch from AT&T DSL to AT&T U-Verse and why?
For the past 4-5 years AT&T has been pressuring me to switch from my DSL direct internet to U-Verse internet, but I have not had any big problems with their DSL so I would hate to make a change. Well my little Motorola Model 2210-02-1022 modem just went out, and they want me to switch to U-verse giving me the same 5 year old line that their DSL is about to end. But now they will only send me a U-verse modem. I don't even know if U-Verse gives people problem, that I am not having with their DSL.
Please give me all ideas and options as to what I might do. Thanks guys!
P.S. I have Dish Network for TV and Magic Jack for home phone, and are not interested in any of their other services.

AT&T offering to waive ETF for switching from U-Verse to DirecTV
So, I haven't heard anyone ever mention this, I'm not sure if it's new. I happened to call in to AT&T this weekend to make a change to my cell phone plan, and the CSR "noticed" I had U-Verse TV. She did the hard sell to try to switch me to DirecTV, including the offer to waive my ETF (still within the 1-year contract period with U-Verse)
Seems like they are ratcheting up the pressure to kill U-Verse TV. It's strange, since you can still order it. Seems like they'd rush out their DirecTV-based IPTV hardware first.

Install question
I recently had Uverse Internet, phone, and Directv install at my apartment last weekend. I'm very upset now for a number of reasons. 1 the sales person told me I was getting high speed internet over fiber, instead the technician used the current phone lines that were there. 2 the technician had to put the dish in a common area now the apt complex wants the dish removed, the sales person said the technician could cut down the trees that block the signal. 3 the technician didn't bring the gift card like the sales person assured me he would. 4 the technician didn't bring any phones, the sales person said I'd get phones he even asked what color phones I wanted, when I said black he said no problem. I called his manager to report him, when he came out he said that Uverse runs over the current telephone lines that are here in the apt. He said that because of the distance from the office I can only get 1.5mbps. The manager also said that's not their job to cut down trees, but this is the service that was sold to me so why aren't they trying to satisfy a paying customer? And also why didn't the technician put fiber in the apartment like the sales person promised? And also why wasn't the gift card brought? I'm paying a lot of money to get out of my current contract with my old provider, in the end I get much slower internet, which doesn't even work the on Demand for Directv, I didn't get my gift card so I have to pay the EFT out of my pocket nor did I get telephones. I'm going to report these people to the BBB because I am not a happy customer at this point.

Looking for password reset help - Former UVERSE customer
Hello,
I haven't been on here in a while. I am looking for help resetting a sbcglobal.net password from when we had UVERSE.
I've tried to used the forgot password links, but they get redirected to att.com. When I put in the email address and zip code the system can not find the username.
I called ATT and they tried to help, but couldn't find the account because we are from Connecticut. They transferred me to Frontier. They could not help because they said they could see our account.
We can view the email for the account in question on computers they have not been logged off the account, but an IPhone is looking for the password.
I'm hoping someone here can help me.
Thank you for your time.
-Steve

Gigapower upgrade....
Recently fiber based U-Verse became available in the neighborhood (still waiting on that supposed email notification I signed up for announcing availability....).
Stupidly I called in to place the order, the rep was very nice, ordered DirecTV and 1Gbps service, got an install date and a confirmation email. On the day of the install I got a feeling something wasn't right, sure enough I called and they had no record of my account and said I'd have to reorder service. I should've just ordered online, but the agent transferred me to his supervisor who convinced me to place the order over again, but this time she put me on the 45 meg plan, said that I couldn't order the 1Gbps until after the service was installed and they would have to run tests and then I could place an order for the 1Gbps upgrade.
I had service installed this afternoon, and as soon as the order was closed I placed the upgrade, thinking it would be just provisioning for the new service, after some run around between multiple agents after calling in to check on it, I was given an install date and apparently a technician has to come out....again next week to change out the modem (have the 5268ac now)?
Is this normal? Or just typical AT&T dysfunction?
