I had U-verse (VDSL) many years ago, then switched to Suddenlink since the AT&T kept jacking the price up. Of course, Suddenlink does the same, so I'm switching back to AT&T. I ordered the 75Mbps service, and it said self installation was available, so I went with that--the "Order summary" email I got says INTERNET: Self installation. However, when I go look at my "Account overview" page on att.com, it says I have an appointment scheduled for Sep 23, 9am - 11am. I wasn't ever asked if I was OK with that date/time, and if I hadn't proactively set up my att.com account again, I would have never known a tech was scheduled.
Anyways, while that date wouldn't have been my first choice, I can make myself available... but a surprise tech visit isn't cool. Wonder why I can't do a self install.
