Outdoor wiring for U-verse internet-only service

Good people - I have established new U-verse internet-only service and am awaiting the arrival of my gateway. I received an email from AT&T indicating that no modifications to the existing setup at my residence would be necessary. Currently my outdoor wiring appears to be Cat-5 between the pedestal and my NID. Other homeowners through the years have made modifications to the indoor and outdoor wiring such that I've been forced to rig up a new setup for my AT&T DSL service and home landline (it works fine). In brief, here's what I have currently: - one pair coming into the house from the NID (blue/blue-white ~= legacy red/green) - the other pair (not sure what colors exactly; a legacy black/yellow equivalent, I imagine) from AT&T is hanging there, not punched down, in the NID, and the continuation of that pair (orange/orange-white, I guess) is still included in the Cat-6 cable I installed but is not punched down inside anywhere. - the blue/blue-white pair on my Cat-6 cable runs from the NID outside, indoors to a DSL filter. This filter was once outside before I started the project, so when I had it all apart I chose to move it inside to make things easier - and drier and cooler - to work on. - voice and data are split off from that filter; predictably, voice goes to my telephone, data goes to my old Westell modem. Both runs go directly to the devices listed; i.e. nothing is attached to or plugged into any of my home's installed phone jacks. Everything works like a charm today, but since I had to cobble this setup together, I want to make sure I'm prepared for the U-verse setup once it's activated. Here are my questions: - Does U-verse run over one cable pair or two (i.e. will I need to get back into the NID to punch down the other pair)? - Should my DSL filter be removed from the circuit (i.e. over U-verse, do voice and data need to be separated in the same manner as DSL?) - How will my landline setup change, if at all, once the service is initialized, and how should my indoor wiring be modified to accommodate that if necessary? My sincere thanks for your time. We all have jobs and lives and probably aren't compensated at all for taking time to bang out a response, so I earnestly appreciate anything you can provide. Thanks again.
