We've been fighting intermittent service problems since we had U-verse installed 18 months ago. We've come to know the inside technicians on a 1st name basis as well as some of the outside line guys. We've had a line quality technicians, managers, transmission line engineers, office of the AT&T president, you name it involved a trying to find the problem. Everything inside the house was replaced at least once, the pairs feeding my home (iNid installation) have been changed several times. The cards in the VRad have been changed and upgraded etc. None of the things that really made much of a change in the problems, upgrading to a NVG-589 helped marginally but that's it.
Finally last Thursday, the line quality technician with checking everything again. He said to himself, "what's left, everything inside and outside has been changed?" He was then playing around with the customer interface block and the iNid and the signal changing. He completely bypassed the block, connecting the incoming lines directly to the lightning protector block. Since he did this everything has been working perfectly!! One stupid little plastic block had caused hours of aggravation for us as well as multiple AT&T technicians!!
