I have uverse and have had since it was rolled out in the St Louis area a few years back. I have been using magicjack as a cheap secondary phone for two years now and it has always worked great until this week when i started getting a "error 3 no internet connection". I also noticed that our rg "3801 HGV" had a new look "new update?" to it when i logged into it. I have the required ports opened for the device 5060,5070,49152,65535, udp and it is assigned the same ip via the address allocation. Like i said it has worked fine until this week. It now will not work even if plugged into a pc. I spent the day with magic jack tech support and only after installing the app hotspot shield as a test on a pc was I able to get it to connect and it worked fine. So the consensus is that att is now blocking a required port for the device to work. I called att tech support and they passed me off to a company that said they will fix the problem but wanted $49 which I find offensive to the point of finding a new ISP. I also noticed that att updated their privacy policy on 6/29/13 also.
I am a long time att/sbc customer and I would like to see if I could get some help from the att techs here on dslreports.
Thanks Dave
