Pending AT&T Order

Pending a switch from Cox to AT&T Internet 45. Seeking clarity on using my own gear, essentially taking my current setup straight from Cox to AT&T. I've come across documentation for IP Passthrough, DMZPlus, etc, but am unclear on a few things: 1. Is IP Passthrough even an option these days? Friend has AT&T (posting this from their house) and they got a 5268AC. I believe this is the current AT&T CPE in our city (New Orleans) and I do not see a IP Passthrough option anywhere. 2. I do see DMZPlus but I'm unclear as to how it works. Is it basically just port forwarding for all unassigned ports or will it actually give the globally valid IPv4 address to my router? Simple TCP/UDP port forwarding will not meet my needs, I need my router to have "real" Internet access. 3. What happens to IPv6 when using your own router? Can I get a /64 assigned to my router for clients behind it? My order is set up for the 18th. Any advice between now and then would be most appreciated.
