So here is my situation. I currently just got my AT&T Uverse installed. My address says 75Mbps is the fastest I can get. I'm in Wichita, KS where I actually can get 20Mbps upstream! It's awesome. Most days I get about 80Mbps/20Mbps. My profile is configured for 193 Mbps down (combined) and 47Mbps upload. My loop length is about 1100 feet. Every single person on the phone in the "giga dept" says my signal is about the best it can get. The tech that comes out are jealous that I get this good of signal. I have a brand new drop and I ran cat 6 shielded cable from the demark to the jack where the modem is. This helps a lot I think!
I just went to order my grandmother service and it says she's able to get 100Mbps/20Mbps for the same price I'm paying for 75Mbps. Keep in mind she IS NOT in a fiber to the house area. I called and spoke with several people and found out my grandmother's loop length is 1300 feet.
Does anyone know why my grandmother is able to get the 100Mbps package but I can't? I've tried and TRIED to contact AT&T via phone and see why but nobody knows anything. To me it's like their computer doesn't actually know what's truly available. They claim they've "flagged" my address for future consideration for faster speeds. I don't know how much that's a story line over the truth.
I need the bandwidth because of my job (IT). I have attached my modem signals.
Does anyone know why I can't get the 100Mbps package or how I can contact AT&T to have them upgrade me?
