So I've noticed in a few places that "mother" VRADs have TONS of markouts near them. I call them mother VRADs because they were the first ones in the areas as far as I could tell. There is one in Oak Lawn on 99th and Kilpatric I want to say, has tons of markouts around it, I took pictures of this area before they put it in as it had more than a fair bit of marking before it was installed - it was the first in the area.
Then there is one in Alsip. It on 119 just west of Pulaski. This one! This one has markouts coming from it back to Pulaski, they seem to run for 115 to 119, then I saw USLC (USULC?) out the next day and the markouts now run from 115, and actually turn go east and continue some, all the way to 123rd and turn west and continue some. Making the largest markout I have ever seen!
Can anyone tell us what this is for? Are they adding fiber pairs or changing them for the new profiles?
Oh also the VRAD that serves me was hit by a car, it was slightly damaged and has been that way for about a year, last Saturday I noticed it was fixed, so there is work going on in the area!
