Since being converted to UVerse in September, it's been nothing but problems that AT&T can't seem to fix. On my second router, and NVG589, and in the process of transferring my home phone number to Vonage.
Of course, with the NVG589 going up and down like a yo-yo, even switching to Vonage won't fix the stability problem. And since AT&T doesn't seem to have any clue what the issue is, I'm trying to get the syslog running. (The System log files the router captures clear and reset every time it bounces, so they're no help in figuring out _why_ it bounced.)
So I've downloaded the Kiwi Syslog Server, and it's up and running. I can get it to handle Keep-Alives with the NVG589, but the actual syslog messages are erroring out with "Unable to decode SNMP Trap. Error : SNMP: Error parsing received packet (headers)." messages.
I was wondering if anyone out there has been able to successfully get a NVG589 or NVG599 syslog working and could point me in the right direction as far as settings either on Kiwi or whatever Syslog Server worked?
Any help would be extremely appreciated!
