Moving - Should I take the AT&T branded jack with me to my new place?

Let me give you a little background... First off, I only do Internet. I will never have phone or TV service. I went back to AT&T in November and ordered their 18 Mbps service. They turned me at the node or whatever and everything was working fine. About 4 hours after I was turned on, I could no longer sync. I called up and they scheduled a tech to come by the next morning. He came into my place and bypassed the kitchen jack and also got rid or a bunch of extra cable length from my bedroom jack and installed a branded jack. After that, my service was working perfect. Before I leave the place I'm currently at, I want to hook up the kitchen again in case the next tenant will be using it. I'm wondering if I should take the branded jack with me since I will probably have to do the same at the new place (bypass kitchen and make sure modem jack is in good shape). Should I? Is there anything special about this jack? It has a circuit board but not sure what it's purpose is and whether it will give me a cleaner signal. I want to avoid them trying to charge me for a tech visit if the new place has the same problems that the old place had. I wasn't charged for the fix at the old place since I had just had the service turned on. Thanks
