Since switching from Charter, I've yet to experience an extended power failure.
We have regular pots dial tone and from experience, we lose dial tone (sometimes) after about 6 hours, and at that point AT&T usually has it running (generators?) within a few minutes worse case scenario.
The techs say they have to power our "digital loop carrier", but my question is since I have my own generator would they also provide backup power to the DSLAM for UVERSE VoIP or do they just expect most people's batteries to deplete within a few hours anyways?
I just want to see before I dump my regular phone line due to storms cutting power for a day or more in the Spring and Summer.
